It was another themed weekend at the Pimplebutt Theater*. This week, it was films containing great chase scenes.

I watched The French Connection, Bullitt, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, and The Seven-Ups .

The movies are full of great chase scene, but these are among my favorites. What are yours?

*Pimplebutt is the name of my home. When I worked in Newport, R.I., I noticed that the grand 'cottages' along Belvedere Avenue all had grand names to match. The Breakers, Marble House etc. I figure that when you have finally made it, you get a house with an appropriate name.

The Blues Brothers had to have wrecked more cop cars than any other chase scene! It was easily the funniest also.

Good call!

7ups was great with Roy Scheider but the best ever was The Road Warrior.

the 7 ups chase scene goes right through my neighborhood, right up 10th ave.

I didn't realize that they used the same bad guy driver as in Bullitt for this movie, it's been a long time since I've seen it. You could never have filmed a chase scene like this in a Honda Accord either, has to be big, heavy American iron.

Also, what's up with the other bad guy, that's the only role he could ever play with that face, he was a bad guy in a Dirty Harry movie too.

How about this one, very intense, not the standard chase scene but it has high powered rifles in it. Live And Die In L.A., great movie!

If you look closely, when they get on the freeway, while they are driving against the flow of traffic they are actually on the correct side of the freeway. It's the rest of the traffic that is on the wrong side of the road.

Best chase scenes ever

Wyle Coyote and the Roadrunner
