Gov't Motors To Open 600 New Dealerships -- In China...

Libo-Pauli, there is no gov't motors.

That lie exposed, why is it a bad thing for GM to expand into the China market again?

That's how it essentially works here too, so i fail to see what point you're trying to make.

so you want people to make 30 cents an hour?
If that is what their labor is worth.

What do you think a person's pay should be based on?

A wage one can live off of. You realize it wont always be that way in china right? They will eventually go up or riot over it.
Why should a corporation be concerned about paying a living wage? Corporations aren't in business to provide jobs.

As for what happens in China, that's up to the Chinese. They're having this same conversation because India is starting to undercut China's labor market.

GM CEO Dan Akerson said on Monday that the company would expand its dealership network in China this year by about 600.

"We will expand our dealer network to 3,500 stores from the 2,900 that we ended up with in 2011," he told reporters.

Well they have a tough time selling that crap here.

Gm is doing well half priced cars and overseas profits.

I wonder how all those cars built overseas are assisting the unions?

They aren't assisting the Unions at all.

In fact its a smart move by GM. No unions in China. Cheaper labor. Hell. They may send the Chinese made cars to the US for sale.

Too bad GM didn't move there before we taxpayers bailed out their mismanged pension funds. Also to bad they didn't move before those that had 401K's, retirements and real money invested in GM got hosed.

Wonder how long it will take em to pay back the taxpayer money that Barry gifted to em??

Can't see anything bad about that. GM needs to secure their future and expand to major markets abroad.
Car sales in Europe and the US have been stagnating and since they need to grow in order to actually secure american jobs and hire more people here expanding to China is exactly the right decision.
Emerging markets like India, Brasil and China have seen rapid economic growth and a ever increasing demand in cars (check out the statistics on China if you want to, you can also see the american and europeans there).
So now tell me again that it is not a good idea to expand to a rapid growing market in order to secure the company here in the US and the jobs it has here..

We are a consumer spending driven economy. If peoples wages are not enought to allow them to buy the products you produce or market....
