The Senate Pulls The Plug On Bio-diesel. They have stopped the Bio-diesel tax credit in the H.R. 4213 Tax Extenders Act. Harry Reid Cuts Bio-diesel Tax Credit from Senate Jobs Bill. Most of the US Bio-diesel production plants shut down operations when the tax credit expired on December 31, 2009. The idol plants must make loan payments or they will be bankrupt. They have been loosing money for the past 45 days.

Also the EPA did not up the ethanol blend mandate in gasoline from 10% to 15% like they said they were going to do.

There will be many lost jobs soon. So much for Obama's green jobs lie.

Every “green job” created with government money in Spain over the last eight years came at the cost of 2.2 regular jobs, and only one in 10 of the newly created green jobs became a permanent job, says a new study released this month. The study draws parallels with the green jobs programs of the Obama administration.
President Obama, in fact, has used Spain’s green initiative as a blueprint for how the United States should use federal funds to stimulate the economy. Obama’s economic stimulus package, which Congress passed in February, allocates billions of dollars to the green jobs industry.
But the author of the study, Dr. Gabriel Calzada, an economics professor at Juan Carlos University in Madrid, said the United States should expect results similar to those in Spain:
“Spain’s experience (cited by President Obama as a model) reveals with high confidence, by two different methods, that the U.S. should expect a loss of at least 2.2 jobs on average, or about 9 jobs lost for every 4 created, to which we have to add those jobs that non-subsidized investments with the same resources would have created,” wrote Calzada in his report: Study of the Effects on Employment of Public Aid to Renewable Energy Sources.

another farce like Global Warming, when are they going to pull the plug and cut funding for all the fraud green projects like windmills ect. ?

It is a good thing to pull the plug on. Ethanol waste more resources than it gains. It was turned into nothing more than another pet project for a few. The initial techs that started the processes for making Ethanol big did so with the premise that they would be using waste products not food sources. Of course money grubs got into the action and started fleecing the taxpayer with subsidized farms, tax credits and bio-plants. All the while the people who could afford it the least pay the bills for the extra fuel that is burned and the damages caused from this ruse.

BTW, last I heard a bank owns the biggest portion of entities that were started out by privates.

I know for a fact that Poet Ethanol plants used waste energy, water, ddgs, stover, etc. The energy gain from seed corn planting to turning the wheels on the automobile it was burned in was a 2:1 gain ratio. Ethanol is profitable if people will pay the same price to burn it as gasoline. It also took away the need for farm subsidy. So these subsidies were eliminated. It reduced foreign oil imports & created jobs.

This did not cause a rise in food prices. Rising fuel & speculation drove up food prices. Proof of this fact is since the peak in food prices ethanol production has grown yet food prices have dropped. There was always & still is excess DDGs ethanols by-product to feed all the livestock in this country & still have leftover corn & DDGs to ship to China.

Furthermore soda pop prices also spiked during that same time. Soda's main inputs are Petroleum for plastic bottles & transportation fuels (heavy stuff), water, corn syrup, & carbon dioxide. Guess what corn syrup, & carbon dioxide are by-products of ethanol production. The wholesale prices on this stuff went through the floor so much so that ethanol plants were mixing corn syrup into cattle feed to create uses for it & they stopped installing carbon dioxide capturing equipment on plants because prices went so low due to beer & soda plants being overloaded with it.

Yes, banks did loan most of the money to these places & they will take a hit. Bio-Diesel has an even better energy return ratio like 4:1 but it did not get off to a good enough start & will go under without the subsidy. Bio-Diesel creats nearly the same amount of feed out put as soy bean input. Ethanol will make it if consumption is increased or 15% mandate imposed. It is strange how the Bush administration created all these green jobs & the Obama administration is destroying them. There is no chance of investors trusting the government enough to put their money into green energy after this fleecing.

Maybe have you considered they put their faith and money into the wrong place? If people want to gamble with their money they should not expect the government to back their gambling with tax payer dollars. It is that simple! As much as some of the people got lazy and have depended on the government to support them money mongers were three fold as bad demanding that the taxpayer pay them and back them up for their adventures.

Farm subsidies and ethanol subsidies should have never been in the first place. It did nothing more than kill the majority of small family farms in this country and around the world so a limited few could be enriched as small family farms were wiped out by the thousands. Sorry some farmer with thousands of acres does not need taxpayer dollars to keep their boat afloat. They can suck it up on their own personal losses and sell off some of those assets just like everyone else has to do when times get tough. If an investor decided something is a good investment they better be willing to back the whole project instead of playing some scam and pork project to get tax payer dollars to support them so they won't lose (lol) their supposedly hard earned cash.

I hear there are plenty of billionaires pushing green. Go get some of their money to back ethanol projects. Or is it that they just blow off the other peoples money to push their own agenda while they pollute the world for their own gain?

Food prices have dropped? You don't shop much do you?

Food prices have dropped? You don't shop much do you?

During speculative price bubble Corn spiked to $7.25 & have now dropped to $3.69 even as ethanol production has increased more 30%.

I guess subsidizing farmers & paying them not to grow corn & other food like we did prior to ethanol was a better use of tax dollars. Ethanol also replaced gasoline additive MTBE that was a major ground water pollutant. So now we can go back to using that also.

The average food consumed in this country travels about 2000 miles before it gets to the table. This makes transportation fuel prices a much larger factor than the grain that makes-up the food. There is only $0.05 worth of corn in a $4.00 box of corn flakes.

To bad Obama did not really mean it when he said he was for green jobs & lowering transportation fuel cost. Bio-Diesel Production has ground to a near halt this year, according to the National Bio-Diesel Board, a trade group.

As far as I can see Obama does not keep any promise.

____

Obama does not keep any promises because Obama understands very little of what he is reading off the teleprompter. He has no clue regarding how the economy works, or the implications of attempting to create "green" jobs via the government.

Obama is among the most common sense real-world experienced deficient presidents in our nation's history...

2 possibilities: Big oil couldn't get the rights to it or Big Oil couldn't make money off of it.

Harry Reid Cuts Biodiesel Tax Credit from Senate Jobs Bill

Another Green Jobs Bio-Fuel plant goes down because Obama Administration pulled tax credit from Bio-Fuel plants & invested it in BIG OIL. What do we gain by investing in Brazil PETRO BRAS creating jobs in Brazil & destroying 60,000 Bio-Fuel jobs in the USA? Ford only employs 45,000 in the USA & now The Green Jobs President Obama just destroyed 60,000 green Jobs & it does not even make news. WTF? I bet if they were union jobs it would have made headlines.

Department of Agriculture Takes Action in Vernon County to Protect Farmers and Grain Sellers
The Missouri Department of Agriculture has suspended the grain dealer's license of Prairie Pride, Inc., Deerfield, Mo., after discussions with the board of directors and management. This action prohibits them from engaging in any grain-related business transactions until further notice. In addition, the Department of Agriculture petitioned the Circuit Court of Vernon County to seize the grain and grain-related assets of Prairie Pride, Inc.

The Department of Agriculture's Grain Regulatory Services program is currently conducting an audit and is working with Prairie Pride, Inc. to expedite payments to farmers and grain dealers as applicable.

Why do you people think this is starving people? Soybeans were ground & pelletized into turkey, chicken & cattle feed before Bio-Diesel came along. The only difference now is the Bio-Diesel plant squeezes the soy oil out of the bean first before pressing them into pellets for feed. There is the same nutritional feed value after the oil is taken out except it is now low fat & healthy. It feeds about the same amount of animals. Bio-Diesel is a great bridge fuel that will run in all current diesel motors until they get hybrids or electric working. The true Energy Returned on Energy Invested for Soy Bio-Diesel is over 4:1

This is similar in Ethanol Production from corn. The people do not understand that animal feed comes out of these plants & feeds the same animals as before & uses the same production energy as before. This is all left out of the energy return equations. In the case of corn ethanol the starch is converted into ethanol but the protein remains in the Distiller Dried Grains (DDGS). The starch was bad for animals & caused cows to produce methane gas & abdominal pains. Even though only 1/3 of the corn remains by weight in DDGs, it has 3 times the feed value by weight. This remaining high protein DDGS feeds almost the same amount of animals as 3 times the corn would have. There is little food loss. We still export much of the corn & DDGs after feeding all of our people & animals. The true Energy Returned on Energy Invested for Ethanol is over 2:1

Hows that wishy washy government policy & total reliance on drilling working for ya? Obama has a forked-tong & talks out of both sides of his head.

In light of the BP Deep water Horizon drilling platform that exploded polluting the entire gulf CNBC polled viewers today.

Question - Should we re-think off-shore drilling policy.

33% - Yes
67% - No

These dim bulbs don't remember/know about all the health issues and disease caused by the St. Paul Ethanol plant that darn near killed people just by operating.

It's no surprise these wimpy sallys are running away from drilling. It was never a conviction with them, it was a poll position and they're afraid of anything that may even ripple that water.

They'll come back as they see people say shove it, more drilling. Unless the econazis manage to capitalize on this (which is very possible since they're in the White House)
