I have to laugh at the republicans claim that they oppose big government. Have the republicans ever cut the size of government while they were in power? Republicans love their government just as much as Democrats. They favor diffferent programs, but they want the government in your lives for their pet issues.

Everyone hates the government until the program they rely on gets cut.

So, the republicans are stone liars...What else is new?

Little wonder they've been losing political market share over the last several years.

Because liberals no longer protest about the crown and their rights as commoners.....they are not real liberals

Or because our founding fathers did not protest for gay rights or healthcare for everyone...that proves they were not liberals

You guys are clueless......liberals look at the way things are and dream of how it can be better. They recognize the rights of the minority, the common man and the afflicted. Liberals today are no different than our founding fathers

Certain bit of truth to this. Because they are NOT Liberal in the Classic sense of the times of the Founders, but rather, that which many call LIBERAL in these times, are actually STATISTS...so the term liberal as it applies today, flies in the FACE of what the Founders' INTENT was.

Could it be said that the MODERN TERM for "LIBERAL" has been neutered in the circumstances of the politics of today?

We need de jure government to protect us from force and fraud.......and that's it.

And they don't even discharge that duty with any kind of decent level of effectiveness.

And in the parlence of what's going on? They were to PROTECT Liberty of the individual, and NOTHING ELSE.

And by the same token, there are some of us that subscribe to no party, and relish Liberty. I'd advise some of you to SHED the party monikers, and all the blame that ensues. It's too convienient for some, including YOUR post.

GOVERNMENT IS NEEDED

in every aspects of our lives to protect, inspect, regulate, etc and the bigger the better. It has become better out of necessity. We have made it a necessary. We need government to protect us from big bad terrorist. Protect, inspect or regulate our water, food and drug supply,etc,
How long would we survive without our dependence on government? Private sector do not care about your baby’s health and safety, you dog or you. They care about making a profit. Without our military, FDA, FAA, our food, water, law enforcement and homeland security, military, what your child see and hear. Too many to list. GOD help us if we had to depend on private sector or ourselves instead of government.
We have seen what happens when private get pass government. Death and destruction and soon complete and total destruction of the human race. If government went on strike, we would not survive a day. We would self destruct pronto. Anyone who is anti-GOD and anti-government is a complete fool.
We live in the best country in the world because of our government that we complain about.

What we have here is SOMEONE that has Never Read nor UNDERSTOOD the Founders, much less the Constitution.

A STATIST wannabe, that is comfortable with Government taking from one, and giving to another for SECURITY...

SHAME...
