The last time you entered a government building of any kind, whether it be a court house or building dedicated to the IRS, etc., what is it you first have to do? Is it not to empty your pockets and be frisked with an armed guard at the door?

And when is the last time a government building was shot up? I'm sure we can skim through the records and find some, but for the life of me I can't remember the last one.

Now why is it our schools have a shooting pretty much every month and nothing is done like this?

Answer: because those in government only care about themselves.

I really hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but why did the FBI discount 2 warnings about Cruz? And why was he allowed to buy an AR 15 with such a violent history and mental health issues?

Could it be that the government wants to ban guns so badly that they are allowing the schools to get shot up in order to generate public support for it?

I think that is very likely.

It may go even deeper. The FBI clearly fucked up on Cruz, but what about the NSA and other federal agencies that spy on all Americans?

We have this HUGE and expensive central government that is supposed to protect us, but doesn’t. It’s a scam.

I think your conspiracy is nutso.

As for armed guards at high schools, I'm not necessarily against that. I'm against everyone else having a gun at school. So, I agree with your government building analogy, they have armed guards, most are gun free zones.

No, it is not. In fact, most of the government buildings I've entered in the past decade haven't got more security than a guard or cop, maybe a couple, somewhere near the door.
  • Local IRS office --> There's nothing other than a lobby guard there. Go to the IRS HQ downtown, and, yes, they have "airport-like" security.
  • Social security office --> One guard standing at the door.
  • DMV/MVA --> Some cops are there, but nobody monitors the door per se.
  • Emissions testing station --> I wouldn't swear that I did or didn't see a guard there.
  • Post Office --> No guard or security measures beyond locked doors.
  • CFTC offices --> Receptionist's desk in the lobby and a couple security guards
  • CMS --> One needs an access card or one must be escorted upstairs by an employee who comes down to the lobby to do so. Guards are in a security office somewhere.
  • Local VA benefits office --> Just a security guard.
  • Public hospital --> Receptionist issues sticker. There're plenty of guards on the property, but one may or may not see them. There's no "airport" grade security.
At the places I cited above, there's no pocket emptying or any such thing. That happens at some government buildings, however, but by no means at all or even most of them.

Perhaps because such measures may inspire (force?) ne'er do wells to bomb the whole damn building?

The reality that really sucks is that no matter what one does, schools and school children are "soft targets" and will forever be so. One can even turn a school into a prison-like place, but that shifts the point of attack to school buses. There simply is nothing one can do to make children en masse anything other than easy prey for folks who are of mind to prey upon them.

Hoover and company went after innocent American citizens who they thought were "commies".

The FBI has a rich history of being a political weapon.

In fact, Obama used the IRS to go after conservatives, something proven in a court of law as they quietly settled out of court, so why not use the FBI to go after Trump and to not respond to those who might shoot of schools so they can push banning guns?

Obama had nothing to do with whatever the IRS was up to, that's simply a lie.

The FBI has done a lot of things good and bad, it is however certainly not Hoover's FBI anymore. It's now headed by Trump appointees, wrap your brain around that.

How about because we cannot afford to hire additional security that can run you through a metal detector and x-ray all of your belongings if you arrive in a group of thousands? They would have about 15 minutes to screen everyone and then stand around for the next 7 hours doing nothing! Why do you think the TSA lines are so long and it takes forever? They start screening long before the first flight ever leaves the airport! Would you like your kids to leave for school 2 hours early every day just so they can get through security?

Please look at what happened to the school in Red Lake, MN.

Those metal detectors stopped a school shooter.... wait! Uh, nevermind!

He killed 9 people that day, including 7 at the school!

What violent history?

What mental health issues?

Do you mean all the incidents that were never documented?

How would NICS get that information if it was never reported?

Right, we can afford all of that in all of the government buildings EXCEPT our schools where the violence is actually occurring.

Duly noted. You seem to enjoy watching children die as well it seems.

Well there is only one solution, raise taxes, right?

That always seems to work so well.

So the FBI was notified twice but someone they did not have enough tax payer money to actually give a damn.?

As for pressing charges against Cruz, more than likely the police were afraid to because he was Hispanic and did not want to be seen as racially profiling. I know that neighbors of the Islamic shooter in California did not notify police of unusual activity specifically because they were Islamic looking and did not want to be seen as racists.

It's Ok though, it's not like had the notified the FBI they would have done anything about it.

Right, Obama heard about the scandal on the 6 O'clock news like the rest of us.

I forgot about that one.

Shucks, I feel so bad about making that charge now. It's not like he knew about anything going on, just like he claimed not to know about the Trump investigation, which was later shown to be a lie.

According to the press, police were summed 39 times to his house over violent outbreaks.

Then he posts on the internet he is going to shoot up schools so two people notify the FBI.

Apparently, there never is any documentation of anything, unless it involves Russian collusion which no one seems to be going to jail for.

Interesting, isn't it.

Not protecting children while government officials are protected is the same as the tax situation. As voters the only tax we can vote down is the one to support our local school system

How sick is that?

But it's the Progressive war against children. If you can escape the knife of the abortion doctor, you have a future of a subpar education in the public school system ripe with violence and drug use. But if you somehow escape that gauntlet you have a future faced with exponentially increasing debt that you had nothing to do with and don't benefit at all from.

Why didn’t Florida stop him? The local PD? They knew more than anyone that he was nuts.

Oh, cause gun nut Florida laws allow the nut job to arm up with impunity .

I went to city hall last week. No metal detectors .

Florida law.

Even with a high risk threat assessment, there's little police can do until he carried out a threat.

That reminds me . Trump (and the cons) sure had a lot to say when that illegal shot that lady in San Francisco. Big calls to change immigration and the border . One guy who accidentally shot a lady.

Kill a bunch of teens . Nothing to see here .
