Gov Walker's WS Set To Have Budget SURPLUS 2011, 2012 & 2013

Right wingers say, "You have to take Lemons and make LemonAIDS".

We still have right wingers ON THIS VERY BOARD who say Iraq was a success and Bush's policies made millions of jobs. Or "people are only poor and hungry because they want to be".

Remember how they screamed at Obama for taking a 200 million dollar a day vacation?

They just make shit up, throw it into a thread and any right winger who reads it acts like it's New Years Eve 1999.

Haven't we tried to get them to LEARN to use "Google"? They insist that anything contrary to what they imagine only proves Google is a "liberal conspiracy".

We have to keep trying. Has finally being able to see ever made a blind man unhappy? Of course not. We need to open the tightly shut eyes of those on the right. Keep up the good fight.

You can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear or put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig.

Gee, Rdean...who's eyes are tightly shut? Wisconsin is in the process of going from running a large deficit to having a surplus and it's because a conservative fixed the mess that progressives like yourself made. Try and put some "libstick" on that!

I want someone to show me how taking away collective bargaining rights contributed to this surplus. ;)

Do you have a link that defines exactly what parts of the traditional collective bargaining tactics were limited?

I think it's important to recognize the difference between a right and a tactic.

The unions lost, period.

Walker and the people of Wisconsin won, period.

Lost what?

And the UNIONS are the people.

Democrats gained two seats and the one Republican that voted against Walker's unconstitution bill still sits in the State Congress.

That means..Republicans have lost an effective majority.

Walker's toast. :clap2:

Just keep repeating that again and again. One quick question:

To bury your head in the sand, do you first dig a hole and then fill the sand in around your head or just ram your head into the sand?

16.896 Sale or contractual operation of state−owned heating, cooling, and power plants. (1) Notwithstanding ss. 13.48 (14) (am) and 16.705 (1), the department may sell any state−owned heating, cooling, and power plant or may contract with a private entity for the operation of any such plant, with or without solicitation of bids, for any amount that the department determines to be in the best interest of the state. Notwithstanding ss. 196.49 and 196.80, no approval or certification of the public service commission is necessary for a public utility to purchase, or contract for the operation of, such a plant, and any such purchase is considered to be in the public interest and to comply with the criteria for certification of a project under s. 196.49 (3) (b).

The state already authorized the ability to sell of public utilities in no-bid sales with no required approval or certification from the public service commission. Why would they have done this?

This is nothing short of giving the Governor carte blanche to hand out the public utilities as a form of patronage. Its the equivalent of leaving the safe open. You are just bitching and moaning that nobody has stolen the cash yet.

Tell me this is the work of someone fiscally responsible?

Why are you so concerned about something that hasn't happened and, if it does, might be a huge benefit for the average citizen of the state?

Are you at all outraged that we, as a nation, have pissed away about 4 Trillion dollars due to lax or absent fiscal planning? That is something that has really, truly happened. You know, reality.

You might have read about it somewhere.

You both are a bunch of fucking retards.

The door is wide open with a big sign saying "valuables here-come rob me" and you are bitching and moaning the house isn't bare yet.

And we know the utilities haven't been sold off yet because...oh wait that was just an assumption on your parts.

You made the assertion. It is up to you to prove that it has happened.

I expect some of his finincial supporters to wind up owning a bit of the publicly owned infrastructure.
With or without competitive bidding?

Ah.

Step one: Dig hole.
Step two: Ram your head in it.
Step three: Crack open a brew.

The unions are "the people"? No, they are PART of "the people". A rather small part, actually. And the reason that Walker was elected in the first place was that "the people" were growing tired of unions who THOUGHT they were the people. The majority of people in Wisconsin are going to look at that budget surplus and they are going to say..."Finally, someone is listening to us!"

That would be kind of hard, since nothing was actually sold...

You are free to go find evidence to back up your claim that shit was sold, fuckchop...

Pardon me if I don't hold my breath....

I'll help out: none...

They did not lose the right to bargain, they lost the ability to forces people to pay for a service they were not providing and forced them to deal with the bill payers (taxpayers) if they wanted exuberant new raises/benefits. Where is the loss in that. As far as I can tell, people were getting their right BACK. Rights to not be subverted into paying corrupt leaders and to decide where tax expenditures were going.

Oh, I forgot. The left realizes that unions require graft to exist in their current state. Well, the jig is up. Unions are going to become accountable to their members.

Actually its more of a shell game to cover up rank corruption on his party

That alleged surplus came by selling off public properties/utilities through graft.

Changes students will encounter when they return to school next month include a classroom shared by fourth- through sixth-graders. Because of the elimination of one rural bus route, many students will now ride the bus for more than an hour, morning and evening. All sports will be shared with a neighboring district. A program to give special help to struggling math students in elementary school has been eliminated and a reading specialist’s time has been cut by 40 percent. A high school teacher has been eliminated. Beginning this fall, Pepin will share an art teacher with a neighboring district, trimming art programming for Pepin students by 40 percent.
