He is correct and trying to convey a necessary concept to the drug addict. To the addict, the world revolves around their need. No one hurts, no one is going with out. The world and all of its woes is secondary to the addict's addiction. This is what enables them to rob someone much poorer than they are. It's what justifies the addict taking necessary medication from the truly in pain and using it for themselves
