"If you don't feel this is an attack, you need to go home and talk to your wife and your daughters." ~ Lisa Murkowski

Murkowski was for blowin' off women's healthcare issues before she was against blowin' off women's healthcare issues --- NOW, Murk's decided holding onto her Senate seat is more important -to her- than the Republican Party's anti-woman ideology.

Women are leaving the GOP in droves, it's not likely Murk's ideological defection will stop the flow.

Lisa Murkowski: 'It Makes No Sense To Make This Attack On Women'

By Luke Johnson Posted: 04/ 5/2012

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) spoke out forcefully in favor of reproductive rights on Wednesday in Homer, Alaska, as many in her party have sought to restrict them.

"It makes no sense to make this attack on women," she said at a local Chamber of Commerce luncheon, according to the Homer News. "If you don't feel this is an attack, you need to go home and talk to your wife and your daughters."

She also said that she would continue to support funding for Planned Parenthood, adding that the courts have affirmed a legal right to an abortion and she stands by that.

The Republican strategy on this makes absolutely no sense. They are dragging up issues from 40 years ago, has this been bothering them this long?

What are these guys thinking?

The only attack on women is coming from democrats who say there is an attack on women. If women believe that, it only proves that women should never have gotten the vote in the first place.

What!----you're claiming the big bad Dems are forcing Republicans to pass laws that force women to roll
over and comply with being raped with plastic instruments? What next, the de facto leader of
the Republican party will insist women should be forced to post video's of their big government rape on the internet-------puuufuckinleeze!

I see so according to you republicans making it so women can’t get preventive health care, and don’t get equal pay is not an attack on women but democrats making it so women can get those things is actually attack on women.
The simple version of the above is “you’re a dumbass”

It’s become more of a crusade than strategy, a consequence of the dominance of the radical right, Christian fundamentalists, and social conservatives.

Obama declares war on Christians and Dems see it as a "war on wimmen".

Priceless

Come on. Republicans attack everyone. What else do they have? It's not like any of their policies work. Even Republicans on this site can only name "trickle down" and "Bush tax cuts", both of which are massive failures.

What? Planned Parenthood stopped giving away free birth control? Their grants from the Susan G. Komen foundation run out? Is abstinence that much more expensive?

Contraception is not preventative health care since contraception is not designed to prevent any illness or disease. Contraception isn't being denied to anyone. They just have to pay for it. If they can't afford to pay for it, they have to take their lazy behinds to a clinic to get it free.

Contraception is the same kind of argument as higher education. It all should be free, provided, without effort, it's important to them.

Now now... The president told us children are punishment. Something he doesn't want to happen to his daughters, so contraception MUST be preventive health.

:cuckoo:

Contraception has other uses besides birth control. You should know what you're talking about before opening your trap.

And that is the crux of the issue for the extreme right. Women are too stupid to know what they support; therefore, they shouldn't be able to vote.
