Indeed. Approximately 1/3 of the original stimulus bill is uncommitted. Why don't the Dems used that already approved funding if it's such a Crying Need?

That original stimulus money is waiting to pay off their campaign donors & family members after the election.

I think they are still trying to find a way of cleverly funneling it to the unions.

The tax benefits line item actually kicked in first, and had to be funded. Consider that Schedule M is new and unprecedented. It is basically a first-ever in history, Equal Amount Cost-of-Living Adjustment. It is a major "Change" of history, like the Democrats had promised. Even if the income tax filer owes nothing, there is still an income-tas refund available. The Congress has to approve outlays of money. That would be an example.

Money you never receive is not an "outlay" numbnuts.

Refundable tax credits aren't any cut in taxes, because they're defacto welfare handouts to people who have zero tax liability in their W-2.

The only change of anything here is the presumption of who the money of the productive belongs to in the first place.

Pundits have yet to dwell on the color scheme in the Republicans Pledge to America! The outsourced Green Statue of Liberry, From France, is at the front. There is a photo of the rock pile, at the base of the more or less, white stone cold heads at Mt. Rushmore. In one of the photos, there may be an Hispanic woman in the center of the photo, or maybe Asian-Pacific Islander. Everything else is as old and white as dinner-place antique China!

The Democrats finally got some additional stimulus passed in the House just today, and in their plan the Republicans explain that they want to hoard all of the stimulus money in Washington, D. C., instead. That is an election-pamphlet pledge.

The Republicans just today announced that they oppose, apparently, the creation of 500,000 new jobs, that will also spend money.

The Financial Community at one point couldn't even trust the banks based on their "asset" values. Mostly, a lot of them were worthless. Even Overnight Lending among the largest banks came to a halt. The President Bush famously gave a another remark: "Lend!"

Famously, nothing hapened, and the Democrats would go on to create Socialist Motor Cars of America, instead.

So what were the local, community banks to do? Hoard. What are all the big corporations to do? Hoard. Where were all the financial houses to do? Hoard. What do the Republicans propose to do, if elected: Hoard!

That is now how to get out of a recession. Even Before Herbert Hoover, there were even the days of Calvin Coolidge, or Warren G. Harding: Famously, "a bunch of phrases, moving across the landscaple in search of an idea!" Hoarding is not an idea, in the search for economic recovery.

The hole in the flat tire equates to DEMAND in this country. There is no demand for goods and services. How do we get Demand for goods and services UP. More money in American pockets to spend--and through their diversity in spending (not on roads and bridges)--they circulate it through-out this entire economy which in turn stimulates the private sector job growth. That's how our economy works.
