In the Charade of Who Wins And Loses in the federal shutdown, the GOP came out as usual for the Giant Mega-Corporation Defense Contractors. Missing in the one week extension otherwise provided, any mechnanism for providing income tax refunds to spouse and offstrings of troops in the field, and former troops in the field!

Yahoo News did not elaborate in its own version of the ploy:

"Boehner said he asked Obama to sign a stopgap measure the House passed Thursday afternoon that would fund the government for one more week, make $12 billion in cuts, and fully fund the Pentagon through September. The speaker said he expressed his direct disappointment to Obama that the president intended to veto the bill if it ever got to his desk."

The Obama Constiutency, of vets and military--and any spouse or offspring--apparently said, "No!" to Corporate Excesses, provided instead of food, clothing, children, fuel and other requirements for women and children, babies and males, grandparents and others prepared to spend the money that will not be coming: All due to the GOP!

Obama to Veto Stopgap Spending Measure
4/07/11 --- The Republican-led House of Representatives approved a stopgap spending a bill on Thursday afternoon to keep the federal government running for one more week, but President Barack Obama has said he plans to veto the measure.
The legislation would effectively forestall the looming government shutdown that would occur just after midnight on Saturday if lawmakers don't extend the deadline to agree on a new measure. After passing through the House in a 247 to 181 vote, the measure makes its way to the Democratic-controlled Senate for consideration.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, supported the legislation, which would cut $12 billion in spending this year, fund the Pentagon at current levels through Sept. 30 and keep the government running for one more week. "There is absolutely no policy reason for the Senate to not follow the House in taking these responsible steps to support our troops and to keep our government open," he said, according to The Associated Press.

But President Barack Obama has promised a veto should the bill reach him. Obama called the measure a distraction from ongoing negotiations on a full-year spending bill. He has already signed two stopgap bills within the past months, containing a total of $10 billion in cuts, to give lawmakers enough time to finalize a long-term budget bill to fund government operations through Sept. 30.

The Wasted Federal dollars , even on the military missions in the Middle East, are better said directly causal of the current high prices of gasolline at the pump.

That was created by Bush and The GOP, and is now signed onto by the Old, Fat, White People--Cavorting About Naked On Other People's Yachts, dumping substance and other treasure, into the sea.

The GOP owns the fuel crisis, now, completely.

Boehner wanted it exacerbated, without any tax refunds to military, or other vet families, to pay for it!
