A dangerous new law signed by Pennsylvania governor Tom Corbett takes away the rights of local governments to use zoning laws to regulate the location of natural gas drilling sites in their communities – even if those wells are adjacent to homes, schools, hospitals, parks or other public areas.

Even more concerning is a gag on doctors treating patients for suspected chemical exposure, all under the guise that the chemicals being injected into the ground are a “trade secret” -

By now gagging doctors who may discover health risks of fracking chemicals, Governor Corbett and his allies in the legislature are making sure that the public is kept in the dark as to the real consequences of natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale.

Pennsylvania Law Gags Doctors Treating Patients for Fracking Chemical Exposures

EVANS CITY, Pa. — A western Pennsylvania woman says state environmental officials refused to do follow-up tests after their lab reported her drinking water contained chemicals that could be from nearby gas drilling.
At least 10 households in the rural Woodlands community, about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh, have complained that recent drilling impacted their water in different ways.

At least two gas wells near a community that's complained of sudden drinking water pollution developed casing problems during the drilling process, but neither Rex Energy Corp. nor state environmental regulators disclosed those problems during recent discussions about the contamination.

    W. Pa. gas wells had casing faults near neighborhood that's complained of water contamination

Must be that darned EPA. Always wanting to help people and stop birth defects. What a dumb organization. They should be "macho", like the Republican Party and just "suck it up". So what are a few birth defects? We got 'em born. Isn't that enough? Anything else is "socialism".

Regarding that zoning to regulate oil and gas drilling... the case stems from a lessee being granted the right to drill by the mineral estate. The city tried to zone the land after the fact.

Brush up on your law before insinuating your usual bullshit.

Wow -we are NOT dealing with top shelf brains here, are we honey? I'll let others address the other ones, but this is about the doctor one which you TOTALLY misstated and got ALL WRONG.

The law was intended to protect PATIENTS, not gag doctors you dumb ass MORON. This law now requires companies to reveal to any doctor who claims they need to know the exact chemicals and in what proportions they exist in order to properly treat or diagnose a patient if they believe their patient is ill as the result of a company's fracking -and even though that is patent protected property. Do you really, REALLY not understand this was information doctors couldn't get at ALL before this?

These companies -like every other company in possession of patented formulas and processes - had refused to release that information even to doctors on the grounds these were patent protected formulas and had no assurance they would not be revealed to competitors. Now doctors need only assure the companies they require the information in order to treat a patient and will not reveal it publicly (which is a CRIME in case you really didn't know that) assure the company they do not intend to publicly reveal the patent protected formula to any outside source -and these companies must reveal the chemicals used. The doctor still has no right to publicly reveal that information because it is patent protected -but at least NOW they can find out what, if any chemicals a specific person may have been exposed to! It HELPS patients but does NOT impose on doctors anything that didn't already exist -because they never had the right to that information at all, much less a right to publicly reveal it!

Serious eye-rolling here honey about what a total tool you really are. What's the matter -you just LIVE for the made-up bullshit drama queen act or what? Or are you under the impression that everyone has the right to know the composition of any and all patented formulas and can publicly reveal those if they want? If so, just waltz into Coca-Cola headquarters and demand to know their patent protected formula for making all Coke products. You won't get it but in case you do, turn around and publicly reveal it and watch your head spin with how fast you find your ass in jail -where it probably belongs anyway. Cigarette companies can't be forced to reveal their exact processing formula they use for tobacco processing -and believe me, people have sued trying to pry that information out of them for decades.

Maybe you don't get it, but in THIS country, PATENTED PROPERTY actually MEANS something and aren't just empty words. The fact someone thinks that formula is harming them doesn't revoke the nature of the patent itself which protects the public dissemination of that information as the sole property of the patent owner. In THIS country, you sue for the harm done -NOT for the formula itself. Because when all is said and done -that property is still not YOURS, you will still have no right to it. Not even if you have a right to be compensated for the harm it did to you.

I lost track long ago how many times you wrote tripe like this that was all wrong, off the wall, totally misstated what really happened -and have to wonder, just how many times do you have to play the total dipshit before you stop and think that maybe, just maybe -the problem is with YOU? Because I promise, the rest of us caught on to that long ago.
