How did Corker-Toomey reach the deal to limit the tax bill’s deficit hike to $1.5 trillion? Corker wanted $0 and Toomey wanted $2.5 trillion, per three people familiar with the negotiations. In other words, without Corker the tax bill could’ve cost a TRILLION more.
