GOP reps on Congressional junket got drunk and skinny-dipped in the Sea of Galilee

A number of Republican Congressmen and others — including the daughter of one member and the wife of another — visiting Israel as part of a Capitol Hill junket last summer, got drunk after dinner, stripped off their clothes and frolicked naked in the Sea of Galilee at the place where Jesus was said to have walked on water.

GOP Rep. Kevin Yoder of Kansas admitted the drunken indiscretion after the web site Politico uncovered an FBI probe into the night of ribald behavior and reported it Sunday.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor was part of the “official” Congressional delegation visiting Israel in August 2011 but denies being present for the drunken evening and skinny dipping. Cantor reportedly was “livid” when he heard about the activities and called each Congressman present with a reprimand.

Questions still remain abut the night of debauchery and sources tell Capitol Hill Blue that severl GOP representatives ventured naked into the waters, along with members of Cantor’s staff. Other included Florida GOP Rep. Seve Southerland and his daughter, New York Republican Tom Reed and his wife; and Republcian Reps. Ben Quayle (New York), Jeff Denham (California) and Michael Grimm (New York).

Some members claim privately they took the evening dip au natural because of the religious significance of the place where Jesus walked on water.

Others say it was booze, not religion, that drove the adventure.

So the Obama admin thinks its ok to use hookers and then not pay. But some boys tying one on and skinny dipping should be condemned.

IDIOT...........

Those involved with the secret service scandal are losing their jobs.

But you applaud this behavior, how amusing.

I didn't hear any applause, and they were admonished by the Republican House leadership for their behaviour. Unlike secret service employees, who were engaged in more than skinny dipping, they will be rehired or fired by the voters in their district.

Misbehaving while representing your country is wrong no matter who does it.

Funny that you can't see that.

Yes prudes do see it that way.....Unless they are engaed in it themselves. Then its different. We have started wars around the globe and you are worried about image.

Talk about Partisan BS you are full of it.......
 The "prudes" are these moronic GOPer uber-Christians....at least they pretend to be prudes. Give them a few drinks and they disgrace the country.

Senator Ted Kennedy took his girl friend for a swim and she never came back. He was reelected 7 or 8 times and is still adored by his fellow Democrats. Would you consider that a bit of a disgrace to the country?

Actually, I'm pretty proud of them.

That just figures. You have no class, Cleo.

So what?

People drink and skinny dip all the time.

Not those pompous, self-righteous, Christian politicians with the sticks up their asses. They are too holy!!! Don't be ridiculous.

the fbi wouldn't go back a year to "investigate" if they were democrats. The fbi is investigating because the fbi is under the control of the current regime. Some government wonk paid to comb through back years of news looking for trivial accounts of wrongdoing to investigate today and create the impression that it just happened. Then, conveniently create the impression without actually saying so, that steve southerland took a skinny dip when the real account of events specifically say he didn't.

Lest we forget "The Old Fat White People, Cavorting About Naked On Other People's Yachts--dumping substance and other treasure into the sea," then let us be reminded of August, V. 15, of the over 800 vote win in Florida! Tea Party Challenger won--and even showing off pigs.

"His campaign last month released a video that shows Yoho talking with a Bush mimicker who commiserates with him over the Obama administration and offers to help Yoho’s campaign.

“Now, what can I do for you, Yoho?” the Bush impersonator asks."

They do try, so hard, at RNC: "And A Rep. Cantor, Shall lead Them!"

And in Missouri:

"'In reviewing my off-the-cuff remarks, it’s clear that I misspoke in this interview and it does not reflect the deep empathy I hold for the thousands of women who are raped and abused every year,” he said. “I recognize that abortion, and particularly in the case of rape, is a very emotionally charged issue. But I believe deeply in the protection of all life and I do not believe that harming another innocent victim is the right course of action.'”

"Akin’s statement threatens to recast a Senate race in which he starts as the favorite, but national Republicans are concerned about his ability to execute a winning strategy. Akin won the GOP nomination two weeks ago — a result that Democrats hailed as a potential game-changer in a tough race for them."

Somethng medical does seem happen when rape is an actual event. "Empathy(?)" happens(?)!

So anything to keep their minds off Missouri(?)! (George W. Bush?! Empathy?!)

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(Tiger, "The Cheetah," Woods lost a bundle on the sale of his house, reported in Los Angeles Times. Rick Santorum actually think that blacks do not owe money, probably hoping for Romney-Ryan win: To get CountryWide Financial back into the business where it belongs?! Actually, even white people were put in chains--so like at the Birth of America(?)! Black were in chains, then, too: Whereas Asians, Persians, Hispanics and the Indigenous Peoples were apparently sitting things out(?)!)

The important point here is that tax dollars were not used.

Congressmen were embarrassing? When is THAT news?

Meh, faux outrage.

PredFan: Do you have a link to show who paid for it. Very interested in that.

This guy is from the Tea Party where many in that party are christian's. This water is of great significance as Jesus was to have walked on it.
His naked butte is history..

I'll look for it in a minute. I heard that a pro-Israeli group paid for it.

Interestingly enough, democrats had to reach back a year ago to find this non-story.

Rep. Steve Southerland at FBI Investigated Sea of Galilee Skinny Dip | Sunshine State News

Not to even MENTION SHHHHHH, that neither Steve Southerland nor his 21 year old daughter stripped!

More manufactured democrat lies.

It always pays to double check democrats. Very little of what they have to say is true.

That's just stupid.

You know what is REALLY stupid? Turning to a washed up comedian for your political views.

The trip was paid for by the American Israeli Education Foundation, no american taxpayer money was used.

So now, what do those representatives owe this group?

Big deal. Let's not forget the GSA's nearly million dollar Vegas party.

Democrats are desperate for something to attack. One man, Kevin Yoder was the only one who actually skinny dipped. Democrats claim it was the entirety of the GOP. It happened a year ago. Democrats need for it to have happened last week. The Sea of Galilee is a popular beach, but democrats need it to be a Holy site. The 21 year old daughter of one representative was present. Democrats intend to turn her into a "child".

Capitol Hill Blue is an ultra liberal blog specializing in exaggerating or outright lying.

Well, at least he didn't use a car and kill a girl while taking his dip - like Ted Kennedy did.

sounds like a hungover morning followed.

Is it illegal to skinny-dip in the Sea of Galilee?
I could not find the law about it on the net.
If they did not break the law ,then it's no big deal.
