After criticism, GOP adds woman to chair House committee
Can anyone say "clueless" or "tone deaf"?

What say you freedombecki, Katzndogz, kg, & Stephanie? :eusa_eh:

The chairmanship of any committee should go to whoever is the most qualified for it, male or female. If Miller has been appointed simply because of criticism who does Boner think he is fooling?

It was pointed out a day or two ago that all GOP chairmanships would go to- you guessed it- middle aged white guys. After that was reported, Boehner scrambled to find a token female.

Can't stop those Republicans from moving right along, now a token woman-chairperson. There was some talk that in another fifty years, a really light complected person, really light complected, might, well you know.
What is funny is that all those pictures shown on TV of the all white-middle aged-male Republican committee chairmen seemed to have some sort of impact. Maybe that the key to Republican movement, pictures on TV?

Ah, so you're admitting appointing/hiring people because of political considerations (i.e. gender or skin color) is tokenism.

Way to finally come out of the closet.

Dude can't win for losing with you dicks.

He either gets derided for appointing another old white guy, or derided for "tokenism" if he doesn't.

In an ineptocracy the position would go to the most unqualified.

Its been like that since the election.

The president says or does something and, in record time, Boehner is off the golf course and in a tie for a photo op rebuttal.

He can't control his own party, hasn't been able to since he got the gavel. That won't change and he'll just keep on scrambling to keep up.

Its enough to make him cry.

he's been scared of a t-party revolt & him losing his gavel. Seems the last election was a wake-up-call for him of sorts though
