Looks like this Primary is going to drag on for a while. What say you?

It's good. The longer they go, the more America finds out what they are REALLY about.

If this takes to September 1st then Obama wins another 4 years. Sad, but true. :( The republican party really fucked up this primary season.

I agree. If they don't draft Jeb Bush at the convention, they're sunk. The base is just too far to the right and they're not going to have enough room to maneuver without a candidate that can appeal to moderates and independents. There may be other choices but, IMO, Bush is the only one with enough name recognition to make it work.

To be fair, republicans shouldn’t have expected much going up against an incumbent president. Which is why the likes of Huckaby and Christie stayed out, waiting for 2016.

It's not a primary anymore. It's a ongoing Democratic ad campaign for Obama in the making as all the GOP hopefuls continue to bash one another and call each other names or accuse one another of not REALLY being conservative.

Assuming Romney limps or hobbles to the necessary point where he's got 1,144 delegates lined up, there will be literally HOURS of video and audio where Santorum and Gingrich insult Romney. Santorum will be a good soldier and endorse Romney. But it won't matter. Gingrich? He hates Romeny, and it's questionable whether he'll offer anything other than a tepid endorsement. Either way, I doubt Gingrich will campaign for Romney.

And everyone knows that conservatives are about as excited about Romney as a Turkey is when Thanksgiving is approaching. And let's not forget radio hosts like Mark Levin who undermine Romney every chance they get. Additionally, as several people have noted, the turnout for the GOP primaries has been down considerably from 2008. That's not a good sign since it appears that the party faithful aren't at ALL excited about ANY of the candidates.

Furthermore, despite YEARS of RW radio hosts and others pounding President Obama, his poll numbers are actually pretty good. Could it be that average people don't take RW pundits seriously because they constantly use all that over-the-top rhetoric.

And conservatives are making fools out of themselves by all this talk about contraceptives. Hell, it was bad enough when Republicans in Congress held hearings on contraceptive issues with a panel that had no women on it. The visual said it all. But then Rush had to call a college student a slut and say how he wanted to see her in a porn film? Unbelievable.

And, of course, you guys have spent YEARS alienating Hispanic voters, the fastest growing voting block in the country. You gonna tell them NOW how much you care about their issues? Think they'll believe you?

And, of course, the economy is getting better.

You guys can play your little games all you want, but unless something major happens to change the current trends, the GOP is going to go down in flames.

Santorum had Romney in Michigan and then he opened his mouth.

His mystifying decision to attack the sacred memory of John F. Kennedy and his bizarre attack on college education. And it wasn't like Romney had a good week either. Several of the opinion polls showed things breaking in Santorum's favor over the weekend, when Romney was blundering around talking about his wife’s two Caddies and his pals who owned NASCAR teams.

But then Santorum opened his mouth:

Referring to President Obama, Santorum said, “He wants everybody in America to go to college.” And he went on: “What a snob…. He wants to remake you in his image.

By reverting to culture-war rhetoric, he placed himself in opposition to the views of the overwhelming majority of Americans—as evidenced in this article from Bloomberg News:

..more than two-thirds of U.S. adults view a college degree as essential for getting a good job, according to a Gallup Poll published in August. And 94 percent of parents with children under 18 expect them to go to college

Then he attacked JFK saying his famous 1960 speech about the separation of church and state made him want to puke.

Macomb, MI. An area that is still more than ninety-per-cent white, it is heavily inhabited by families of Irish, Italian, and Polish Catholic families that not very many years ago, and perhaps even now, had photographs of J.F.K. hanging in their parlors.

In a contest between an Italian-American Catholic and a Mormon, the advantage should have been with Santorum. But rather than winning Macomb, he ended up trailing Romney there by a margin of almost nine points: 43.3 per cent to 34.6 per cent.

I'm saying , so what?

last time, the HIllary-Obama fight dragged on until June. Didn't hurt Obama much, and Hillary actually garnered more votes. All of Hillary's supporters got behind Obama in the end.

And even though I've made MY hate of Romney pretty clear, I have no illusions that 95% of Santorum and Gingrich supporters will get behind him when he's the nominee.

The GOP's real problem is that the leadership committed to Romney emotionally before a single vote was cast. I think it shows a bigger divide in the GOP, between the economic and religious conservatives, that are going to eventually have to be resolved.

Very funny line about Thanksgiving. But I'm an old man, and this is about the sixth "reallignment" of the political landscape that has been announced in my lifetime. These are issues of the now, they won't be cared about in six months.

Obama will win because by and large, we don't throw incumbants out unless they've seriously screwed the pooch.

He'll win, but he won't take the house and he probably lose the Senate. Then he'll overplay his hand and the GOP will eat his lunch in 2014.

Then 2016 will roll around, and all the real contenders for the GOP will come forward and you guys will be stuck with- well, maybe Andrew Cuomo if NY voters don't toss him out on his can in 2014.
