but here's the kicker.... we aren't them. Their culture is vastly different than ours. It's reactionary and violent.... that's the way they were brought up. I've talked to three co-workers who were deployed to Afghanistan(Army Reserves). They all said the same damned thing. While Karzai is the "president", the whole country is like the wild west over there. If you don't understand the culture and the dynamics of a country, making stupid blanket statements are foolish as hell.

Idiot... this was not something like just taking Korans away from prisoners and burning them in spite

There were messages and hate extremist hate speech written in the books.. not something you want getting out into the hands of other prisoners or even to the outside people or groups who may normally dispose of the books in their own special way according to beliefs...

This was justified and rightfully done, even if some did not like it... Kinda like finding a bible in prison in the possession of a white supremacist prison gang member that has extremist writings and instructions in it... you don't risk it getting into the hands of others and you don't give it to the grand wizard to dispose of... you simply destroy it, even though it is a 'holy book'
