Republicans in Texas are attempting to oust a party leader for being Muslim

So some GOP members in Tarrant County (Forth Worth, Texas) are trying to oust their own party vice chairman for being a muslim, period -- that's it...end of story....how delusional do Republicans have to be?

Shahid Shafi, an Indian Muslim immigrant, trauma surgeon and city council member, became the vice chair of the local Republican party in July. Since then, several party officials have called for Shafi to be removed from his post on the basis of his religion."

So the guy is a practicing trauma surgeon, was able to get himself not only elected in Tarrant county of all places, but was also able to be appointed vice chair of the Republican party in Tarrant county -- now all of a sudden he can't be in leadership?

"As a practicing muslim that is an overt falsehood. Sharia law is anathema to our Constitution because Islam recognizes no other law but shariah,” Legvold added. “As the most conservative county in the nation, this is a demoralizing blow to the conservative rank and file of the Republican Party across the nation and in Texas.”

So basically, he can't be the vice chair anymore (not because of him breaking the law or doing anything wrong) -- but because for xenophobic knuckle dragging bigoted racist republicans -- having a muslim vice chair makes them look bad?? If any conservative defends this BS, stop calling yourself a conservative.

A member of the Texas Republican Party's 2018 platform committee came under fire this week after he proudly declared himself a "white nationalist."
