gop just can't stay out of people's lives

GOP has always been for big government when it suits them. It is a problem which costs them many votes. Just ask Ashcroft how big government has the right to over rule state laws.

Now personally I am against State's Rights in almost every case. Just an observation in agreement from the outside.

the view count to comment count ratio explains it nicely

The concept is easy to understand. Abortion is still "legal" but most Americans don't want their taxes to pay for "technicians" to kill unborn babies. Sounds right to me. How do we enforce the law? Find out if taxpayer money is being used to kill unwanted babies.

Don't worry, the IRS won't have time to audit abortions...........they've got 310,000,000 Americans to check the status of health insurance possession on, and issue appropriate fines for those who don't. They'll never get aroud to it. In fact, if the IRS is gonna do a yearly health insurance possession check on over 300,000,000 Americans, that comes out to almost 1,000,000 people PER DAY that they have to check on. No wonder Obamacare called for 10,000 more IRS agents. That leaves 100 people per day each agent will have to check up on. Or about 13 per hour for an 8 hour shift, or 5 minutes per person for over 300,000,000 people.

Wow.

Socialism equals no state rights.

Yep, dimwit big gov't. Socialist in chief obamaturd at his finest.

It is the idiot left dimwits that are big gov't. idiots that can't stay out of peoples lives.

Bullshit. The right is just as much in favor of big government as the left, just on different issues.
The socialists have been backing and controlling the dimwits since the 60's. The left is big gov't. the right is big business which is better any day of the week.

You get the Bucs90 "Post of the Day" award.

Big Gov't and Big Business are both greedy and often heartless.

But Big Business can't send men with guns to take more of my money when they are broke.

Thus, I support the lesser of two necessary evils to support.

Government is a business, what do you expect, politicians have to keep their wallets full with other people's money somehow.

I only read the first paragraph of the link and I must say that despite the fact that I am pro-life, I don't like the sounds of what I read.

So, if this were to pass, any woman who had an abortion would now have her tax return automatically audited the following year? Oh, how efficient is that going to be?

Okay, I skimmed farther down the article.

I still don't like the idea. More big government brought to us by our elected officials... :puke:

Well, now that I have seen the bill itself: Read The Bill: H.R. 3 - GovTrack.us

It seems that Mother Jones is full of shit. It does not call for audits. It simply states that no federal funding shall be used for the purposes of abortion and gives the exclusion for the case of rape, incest or life of the mother.

This is the only reference to the internal revenue laws that I could find:

‘SEC. 303. PROHIBITION ON TAX BENEFITS RELATING TO ABORTION.

‘For taxable years beginning after the date of the enactment of this section--

‘(1) no credit shall be allowed under the internal revenue laws with respect to amounts paid or incurred for an abortion or with respect to amounts paid or incurred for a health benefits plan (including premium assistance) that includes coverage of abortion,

It's essentially to stop any workarounds of the Hyde Amendment, a House rule that prohibits any bills or parts of bills which allow federal funding of abortion. Basically making the Hyde amendment, law. To put it way too simply.

The massive bi-partisan support of this bill is astounding. If all of the cosponsors vote for this bill, it passes easily. There's over 210 cosponsors.

And yes, the biased source the OP started this thread with is a complete and total liar.
