I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're an ignorant Baby Boomer because only people your age make such a stupid comparison between the cost of schooling in your generation and mine.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess he's a Republican. This is their attitude towards the out of control costs of college. They don't care because they are done. And the ones who have kids dealing with this will brush it off because they are brainwashed into thinking liberals/democrats suck and conservatives/republicans rule. Well, they do rule now and there is no way they are going to help make college more affordable. In fact Trump's appointee just got rid of all the regulations that Obama put in place to stop lenders from doing predatory shit.

I love it because how many of you, including yourself dontazmebro, do I hear defending Republicans here on these boards every day? Aren't you a Republican? Well then don't complain about the out of control costs of college. You did this to yourself.

Allow me to play devils advocate.

Go to community college first. It’s not that expensive.

Then, if you feel the need, go get your bachelor. If it may not be worth it, maybe don’t get a bachelor. A lot of the people I work with don’t even have associates. But instead of making everyone get a bachelors to get an office type job, just make it an associates.

I’m in sales. No reason I needed to get a 4 year degree. A 2 year associates would have been fine.

I take it then that your word means nothing to you?

The 'students' understood the interest rate when they applied for the loan and then used that money to finance their education. They knew what they were getting into and if anything, those that promote an education as the only means of getting out of poverty are every bit as much to blame for their plight as they are.

There ARE alternatives to college that provide excellent paths to well-paying jobs that do not cost the taxpayer a left nut, or the student half a lifetime of debt.

    Nope I'm Gen Xer

And you can still go to school part time while you work full time

Where is it written in the holy scripture that you must complete a college degree in the 4 years immediately after high school?

I got 2 Bachelors' degrees and my MBA while holding a full time job
