GOP is glad Cain story was leaked

Wrong, the GOP wants to run out the socialist that currently parks his fanny in the Oval office.
If this would have come out with Cain as the nominee you believe Cain would win?
The REpublicans are not as stupid as you believe.
If one was to use the word "retarded", it would accurately describe the Cain campaign these days. Or stupid to be more PC.
The Cain campaign has known about these allegations before he announced as they knew about them when Cain ran for SEnate here. Politico informed Cain TEN DAYS before they ran the article. Ten days and the Cain campaign fucks it up.
And we want them running the free world.
The "he is better than the current jocke up there" is an absurd argument. There are 4 other Republican candidates very well qualified.
It gets even stupider with the Cain first response statement in this matter being sent out by the lead Cain press secretary, someone that had sexual harrasment issues while at the Pentagon.
"It was the Democrats" was their first response. "It was the Perry campaign" is what they released yesterday.
Sad because Cain is a good man but he is done with. Liar, liar pants on fire.

all he needs to do is pick up about 5% on obama and he could win yes.

And how exactly is he going to do that? Obama isn't even campaigning, yet, and he beats them all, handily.

I think obama has been campaigning for months, his jobs bill was a campaign stunt in my opinion because he knew it wouldn't get anywhere the way it was written.

We most likely disagree here but just so you know what me, and many other people think, we think he has been on the campaign trail ever since his big old bus tour earlier in the year.

And obama doesn't beat them all at all....look at the polling its pretty even with most canidates and obama...a generic republican beats obama by 5 points.

Obama is campaigning, but it's all free campaigning. Wait until he starts spending money, and he's going to have an awful lot of it. While candidates cannot always buy their way to election, having a lot of money does make a difference.

Yeah..there's no "Generic Republican" running. When faced with the real republicans he beats them all. And as for "campaigning", he really didn't have much of a choice. Congress has essentially shut him down. The cool thing is, they are putting up ridiculous legislation, instead and are acting with extreme petulance. I really think "establishment" republicans want alot of the tea party types, out.

In any case..how the heck is Cain going anywhere with commercials like these:

The last time I saw something this silly in a political ad..was the Christine O'Donnell "I'm not a Witch" ad.

According to the guy in this commercial, he's heading it up. This one is only slightly less bizzare.

Wow, the republican party has done something that I never thought they would do as it's really making them look bad. WTF. Bazzorro world ---Time to drop this sack of crap and choose Paul or Newt.

yes, but the minute you put a name to the republican candidate, the president wins...

He is statistically tied with many canidates including ron paul (which still blows my mind and is why I brought it up)

At 41 to 43 paul/obama that is a statistical tie
at 48 to 46 romney/obama is a statistical tie
at 45 to 49 perry/obama is just barely a statistical tie...one more point and its no longer statistically a tie but obama winning.

Perry Looks Better Against Romney Than Against Obama

Whoever leaked this did a GREAT SERVICE to the GOP. Had Cain won a few primaries and then this was dropped the GOP would be in deep doo.

You are probably right.

Two points-

1) I wish that we had actual specifics. All the accusations are really kind of vague. I'd like to know what was actually said, other than it was "inappropriate".

2) That Cain has gotten this far before this hit is a damning indictment of what the GOP has degraded to. His profound ignorance, his short temper, his insane ideas should have disqualified him a long time ago.

That Rick Perry and Tim Pawlenty- guys who have been successful governors- can't get traction in this race, but a clown like Cain or Bachmann can, is kind of frightening.

Perry blew it on his own. Pawlenty and Huntsman seem like quality candidates. But they are to moderate for today's GOP. Mitt's doing the "ether dance" and it seems to be working.

But Cain has been surprising. He's pretty bizzare and his handling of this thing has been embarrassing.

I agree.

Anyone could be accused of anything, it doesn't make it true. This isn't going to work for the Perry Camp, I think Americans are smarter about the smear tactics now than they where 4 years ago and will reject this.

Perry and Pawlenty represent the establishment, which might be good enough for those of you on the other side of the field, but it's not good enough for our side where we actually care about changing the status quo and straightening out washington and bringing back liberty as it is written in the constitution.

The Establishment GOP is happy because cain is a real, brass-tacks, libertarian/conservative who's ideals fall right in line with the teaparty and other conservatives that support him. He scares the fakers in the republican establishment.

he is a real conservative while the establishment GOP is just a light version of the heavily progressive DNC. For example the patriot act and medicare part d....both are as far from conservative as possible yet were supported by the establishment progressive GOP president at the time and his congress represented by the likes of John McCain.

Cain IS an establishment candidate. His Federal Reserve appointment should tell you all you need to know.

Prediction of Herman Cain's first act as President: Executive Orders re authorizing all of Obama's and Bush's Executive Orders.

That's a ridiculous claim. He was successful with money because he ran businesses, maybe he was offered the job because he was good with money, not because he was establishment.

with republicans ignoring a governor with a proven actual conservative track record... gary johnson..... shows that the gop and their voters have no interest in limited government and fiscal responsibility.......

the guy has an 8 year proven track record of low taxes, reduced spending and limited government......

We're not looking for establishment, we want REAL change, not the status quo of politicians who have been bought and paid for already by Soros and the like.

the republicans just want to replace the current socialist with a socialist of their own.......

republicans support socialism as long as it is done by a person with an R next to their name.......

The same could be said of Democrats and wars.

Well it should be embarrassing for anyone who supports Cain. He's admitted something happened after stating nothing happened.. What he should have done was either disclosed fully or told everyone it was none of their business. The middle route fails every time.

As long as the Treasury check has their name on it they want no change.
Problem with America today. We are a nation of folks on disability, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Section 8, government retirees all with a government check.
Republicans are as bad or worse in that department.
The US has become the "I want my government check too" crowd.

And how many of those entitlement programs where brought into law by the GOP again?
It has long been the progressive/socialist/communist/marxist agenda to create a massive welfare state/nanny state of america. If they could just get that 47% of non tax payers up to 51% they will have it, and with all of the job killing obama regulations I'd say they may just get it.
