GOP fixation on tax cuts deflects the fact they don't know how to grow the economy

Clearly, the reason the GOP is fixated on tax cuts is because they have no clue how to grow the economy. They don't know how to create jobs. They don't know how to create an environment conducive to creating jobs.

Even while business is saying they aren't hiring because of lack of demand, Republicans are saying it's because of "uncertainty". What does that even mean? "Demand" is a real thing. Something every businessman and economist understands, but "uncertainty"? It's laughable.

During the last election, they ran with "Jobs Jobs Jobs", but now we know that can't possibly work again.

Tax cuts aren't enough. We've traveled down that road with the Bush Tax cuts and the all the tax cuts included in the Stimulus Package. The only part of the the package that created jobs was "investment". Even the more than a hundred Republican congressmen and senators who voted against the stimulus, then took stimulus moneay and then took credit for all the jobs it created in their districts know the stimulus worked and would have worked better without all the tax cuts.

Republicans don't have any ideas on how to grow the economy or they would tell them to the American people, right?

Well, they do know that raising taxes at a time like this is a great way to stop economic growth in it's tracks. They know that if you over-regulate then you retard growth. And they know that temporary bullshit only gives you temporary results, and you end up just as bad off as you were before but with more debt. They know that gov't does not and never will create enough sustainable jobs; only the private sector can do that.

The GOP obsession with giving tax breaks to the very affluent reflects their support of their POWER BASE.

They know perfectly well how to grow an economy.

But it isn't the national economy they care about.

It's the private economies of their support base they really care about.

GOP fixation on tax cuts deflects the fact they don't know how to grow the economy...
The topic muddles two distinct themes.

One is how tax cuts increase economic activity, and the other is mindless anal hatred for Republicans. No point in talking about faction bashing because that stuff is a matter of choice not analysis and it ends up with people cussing out each other. The idea of increasing revenue and economic activity with tax cuts would be a lot healthier to get into. In fact, JFK's tax cut would be a great place to start.

So the idea is that we need to choose the Dems because the Reps have no idea how to grow the economy?

The Dems took control of the government in January 2007 and have held that power since.

It is fair to say that the Dems have controlled and guided the government as much as any political party can during the intervening years. Under their guidance with their collective boot on our collective throat, we now find ourselves down 10 million jobs from where we would have been under the guidance of the Republicans assuming a constant rate of employment.

You have an interesting albeit delusional view of the world.

So who's opposed to the pipeline from Canada? Who's opposed to letting Boeing build a new plant in South Carolina? Who raided Gibson guitars and seized their wood to protect jobs in India? Who was pushing Cap & Trade legislation and stringent new EPA regulations on green house gases? Who shut down drilling in the Gulf? Who's Jobs Czar is exporting jobs overseas?

I'm sorry, Rdean but for you to make the point that Republicans don't know how to create jobs you'd have to tell Harry Reid to stop sitting on the dozen bills that the Republicans have sent to the Senate that will HELP to create jobs and tell President Obama to stop putting his reelection campaign ahead of creating jobs. Do THAT and maybe you'd have a valid point about Republicans not doing enough to create jobs.

The GOP obsession with giving tax breaks to the very affluent reflects their support of their POWER BASE.

Tax breaks? The top 1% pay 40% of all Federal income taxes. No other country gets such a high % from the top 1%.

The idea that Republicans favor the rich is a perfect liberal lie if you look at facts. Class warfare is straight out of Marx but the liberals don't know they are being used as they dutifully parrot their lines.

In fact, JFK's tax cut would be a great place to start.

Exactly, tax cuts and smaller gov't mean liberals waste less and create fewer liberal gov't bubbles like the housing bubble.

They also mean the private sector has more to spend in sustainable,non-bubble producing ways that grow the economy.

A liberal "investment" is merely a non-sustainable bubble that will burst thus recessing the economy.

Gee they've only been telling it to us for 200 years!! You grow the economy with capitalism and shrink it with liberalism or socialism.
Now you know why China just copied Jefferson by switching to freedom and capitalism thus instantly saving millions from more liberal en masse starvation.

Lenin did exactly the same thing as he briefly instituted a Capitalistic approach calling it one step backward for two steps forward.

Strangely enough, the Big 0 did this also when the Bush Tax Cuts Expired, he instituted another set of tax cuts exactly like them.

Now the Dems are fighting for more tax cuts.

They say that tax cuts will not help the economy, but their actions don't reflect their words.

What do we call people who say one thing and do something else? There's a word for that... Let's see... Oh! I've got it!. These people are Liberals.
