GOP Finally Admits That Tax Cuts Add To The Deficit

And increased taxes on everyone and everything create prosperity... PLEASE... :anj_stfu:

The only thing increased taxes does is give more money to the government to spend, even though the government has spent us into a financial BLACK HOLE already.

Clinton increased taxes in 1993. And the years afterward were the longest boom period in this nations history. Obviously you were born yesterday, since you don't seem to be capable of remembering that.

Once again

Tax cuts do not cost the taxpayer a dime

It's the spending that costs.

No, tax cuts do not cost the taxpayer a dime. And as we slide into a black hole, on our way to being a third world or less nation due to the lack of investment in our infrastructure and education of our children, you can wave bye-bye to the very wealthy as they leave the nation that gave them the wealth in leiu of taxing and investing a portion of the wealth back into the nation. For the very wealthy will go to a first world nation, and just use the nation that has become third world as cheap labor to further enrich themselves.

Of course, that taxpayer that was claiming that tax cuts don't cost a dime is now working for wages at Chinese levels can just console himself that the tax cuts never cost him a dime.

You Goddamned fools wish to make this nation into a model of poverty.

Your words can't be seen by those with guberment entitlement blinders on.

Your words can be seen by all.

You people want no government? Move to Somalia. We don't need people who are non-producers and looking for a free ride here. Proof of you dingbats being easy. Liberal states send more money to the feds than they recieve, and the conservative states live off of this dole from we liberals.

So, Reb, get off of your dead lazy ass, shovel the beercans out of the yard, and go find a job.

Well, yes, he has cut the taxes for the wage earners. That is what is upsetting people like you, Frankie boy, you believe tax cuts should only go to the rich.

However, in this economy, I really would like to see my taxes, and those of the wealthy returned to the Clinton rate. I, as an over employed middle class earner, can afford it. The wealthy definately can. For the working poor, every penny counts. They should not be paying taxes, other than FICA and Medicare. They are contributing more to society than they are getting out. But you would increase their taxes and decrease the taxes of the wealthy.

Of course they're both to blame. But who just spent three years actively working to destroy this country? We all know the answer to that one. Every. Damn. Time. EVERY damn time the party of "no" had a chance to say yes, they said NO.

They have been actively showing their ass, singularly and collectively, for three years now. This will cost them.

The whole system is corrupt, but they're the ones who gridlocked it, and nobody is forgetting that any time soon. Don't believe me? Watch the dropping numbers.

OH MY FUCKING GAAAAWWWWD... HERE WE GO AGAIN....

WHO THE FUCK HAD ***TOTAL CONTROL*** of congress, the senate and the White House for TWO YEARS?

The party of no my ass. You fucking LIBERALS couldn't pass SHIT even though you had TOTAL CONTROL!!!

You people LIE LIKE RUGS, and are MASTER BLAMERS, just like your PATHETIC excuse of a president ODUMBO.

Gotta scream your silly lies, old boy? Cannot stand to see the truth?

We have achieved a number of important agendas, in spite of the GOP and the corperate Dems. That is what has you assholes so upset. After 2012, we will achieve even more. Starting with universal health care.

I wonder if they know "trickle down" doesn't work?

You are either to young to know or to stupid to realize it. Either way

NYC spend $18,000 per HS student, you lying jackass and 1/3 drop out and of the 2/3 who "Graduate" the vast, overwhelming majority need remedial education to enter community college.

Remember the Bush tax cuts that weren't paid for? Republicans in DC and across this nation insisted that tax cuts don't have to be paid for; that tax cuts don't add to the deficit. Those of us that have a little common sense shook our heads in disbelief at that notion while their loyal base eagerly lapped up the GOP talking points and repeated them as gospel.

Well, sorry cons, but the jig is up. None other than Mitch McConnell admitted what we already knew - that tax cuts do in fact add to the deficit.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday that Republicans are working on an alternate proposal for extending the payroll tax cut, and predicted that, at the end of the day, "the House will insist that as we extend this payroll tax relief for individuals only for another year."
McConnell, speaking to reporters at a press availability, declined to provide details of the Republican bill, other than to say it would "be paid for in an acceptable way that does not adversely impact job creation."

"In all likelihood, we will agree to continue the current payroll tax relief for another year, but we believe that it should be paid for," the Kentucky Republican told reporters.

~snip~

McConnell said Tuesday that it was necessary to pay for the tax cuts because "with this $15 trillion debt we now have, bigger than our economy, we need to be paying for a measure like this that's temporary."

When it comes to tax cuts, it goes back to economic employment basics: Who is the one you will most likely approach for a job interview to obtain employment, an individual making $60,000 a year or one that has investments covering over $1 million a year? I'm sure the left is still scratching their heads trying to figure that one out. Which is why we also haven't seen any significant improvements in the economy's job numbers, during the time the Democrats held control of BOTH branches of Government.

Well yeah, tax cuts without the accompanying spending cuts WILL lead to deficits. Who doesn't know that?

Talk to Republicans. They keep saying that the Bush tax cuts didn't add to the deficit. :dunno:

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD

The nutters on the internet are still talking about George Bush.........as if it matters. Im laughing........except for the nether-regions of the internet, nobody thinks about George Bush and deficits. This is a POLITICS forum, as I frequently have to remind the k00ks on here. Its 2011. When somebody mentions DEBT, they think of one guy and one guy only.

Even the perpetually numb get this by now......

obama's tax cuts are offset by increased taxes elsewhere so much so that it really doesn't matter how much of a payroll tax cut there is, the net taxes paid is far more than if the payroll tax cut had never happened.

It's hard to believe that people are really this stupid. It's like gambling in an indian casino. Play the penny slots, you win every time. Play 20 cents win two cents. Play 45 cents, win 15 cents. If you win every time, how can you go broke? Comparing obama to Clinton is likewise idiocy. Clinton's years had the benefit of the .com bubble and the beginnings of the CRA that HE expanded and led to the collapse that we now have.

With a population as ignorant as the democrats, there is no way we can get out of this.

If we were to take everything "the rich" have and reduce them to absolute penury, it will not appreciably reduce the deficit nor will it do anything to satisify the existing entitlements. To do that, "the rich", meaning the productive class would have to continue to create wealth at the same or an increased rate as they do now. A wealth that they will not enjoy for themselves but for the benefit of entitlements. This is why socialism fails, always and will now.

Most intelligent people get up from those slot machines and walk away. Only a democrat sits there and says I can't quit now, I'm winning, every time.

I have to laugh at the crap posted up in this forum. Last time I checked........it says POLITICS for subject matter.
You get people coming into this forum ranting about ideology..........specifically in this thread, an indictment by some of Supply-Side economics. Problem is......in terms of politics, people, and especially the partisan nutters forget that politics is about a snap-shot of the public mood in present time. And overwhelmingly, the party with the most power for the past 3 years is seen as doing it wrong. Which of course is an indictment of the Kenynesian model.........which of course, has never worked in the history of the world. Even Democrats dont think this shit works anymore. Check any poll out there in the president and the economy. Its a goof. And now he's out there talking about how he needs another 4 years to promote change. Perhaps a rallying cry for those who spend 20 hours a day in the nether-regions of the internet..........but nowhere else!!!:D

Well God bless him..........I hope to hear that 1,000 times between now and next November. Most people dont like whiner/weenies and the non-partisans will decide the election. The partisan nutters on this thread dont quite get what it means politically to be an incumbent polling in the low 40's a year out from an election.

But they will!!!!!:fu:

The poor, those on WIC, shouldn't be given free cell phones either. You help the poor by giving them less comforts from the government, thereby forcing them to get out of their poverty condition. Government hand-outs have only "coddled" the state of poverty, not improved it. The Federal Government has made itself the enabler from, not the solution to individuals creating for themselves a better way of life. When you see the poor become "uncomfortable", THAT'S when they choose public school over the streets, the need to develope skills, the desire to seek employment, and create for themselves the lifestyle they want.

By taxing the rich the Federal Government punishes success and rewards those without inititive, determinatiion, and drive. There was a time in our nation's history, where those seeking work looked down on hobos. Instead they wanted to provide for their own way, and WORKED (no matter how labor intensive) to provide a better life for their family. Now rather than a encouraging people to work, we provide them with free cell phones with promises the government will provide FOR you by taxing the "evil" bad rich. I'm sure the hobos of yesterday would be pissed over all the free "comfort" opportunities they have missed out on.
