GOP Cuts Could Hit Tsunami Warning System

The things we have to borrow money for we can't afford no matter what it is.

The military is the biggest thing that we don't pay for so lets get rid of every fucking war hawk we got and bring our kids home from everywhere, let them take care of themselves.

and get all that money back from all the banks and states that we gave money to to stop the Bush recession from becoming a depression of Hugh magnitudes.

Lets stop sending more money to any state then what the govt gets from them. as many states get 10 to 40% more back then they pay in. that needs to stop.

The only program that is now operating in the Black is SS so what or how do you cut that? And the health care is said to save money and cover people, now why cut that.

Lets start cutting, maybe the billions in tax cuts to businesses who have shown no need of them? Paying large farms to keep their crops out of the ground?

Where are all thos "shovel ready jobs" our president told us about to get the stimulus? Where is all that money? I think it went to government workers and their unions. What do you think?

Well, wherever it went, I'm certain that "Every PENNY was accounted for.....":eusa_whistle:

Oh, they account for the pennies. It's the billions they have problem keeping track of.

The guy who posted this comment in the link hit the nail on the head:

Bureaucracy 101 - Anytime anyone mentions cuts loudly proclaim that the only room to make cuts is in the most important programs, rather then in the bloated bureaucracy.

NOAA requested a 2012 budget $740 million above the 2010 level for a total of $5.4 Billion but if budget cuts have to be made the Tsunami Warning system will be the first to get the axe.

Indeed. We see that with teachers, police, and fire fighters all of the time. The few things people actually value are held hostage.

More than 30% were tax breaks.

A lot of the rest went to 114 Republicans who took credit for the jobs it created:

114 Lawmakers Block Recovery While Taking Credit For Its Success

You know, that info is out there if you really wanted the truth.

Unfortunately for the right, the "truth" has a "liberal bias".

Now this is funny. You will never reduce the deficit unless you "grow" the economy. Republicans think that's "Stupid Democratic Liberal Talking Points". Hilarious.

No it wasn't.

That was stupid. And for anyone paying attention to my posts..I've been saying for years that wasn't Clinton's finest moment.

I missed what you've been saying for years about Clinton's Jizz staining an intern's blue dress.

Mind filling that in?

Yeah..he liked women.

You got a problem with that?

No of course not, but I don't go around staining dresses.

Instead of the millions that would have died without it.

And Republicans laugh and laugh and laugh. The hysterical cackling of the maddest of the loons. All that cackling and they lay eggs right on cue.

And you get the millions figure from where?

Republican Budget Cuts Could Hit Tsunami Warning System - NYTimes.com

A spending bill passed by House Republicans last month could affect the nation’s tsunami monitoring system, which issued warnings in response to last week’s devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, opponents warn. The plan cuts $126 million from the 2011 budget of the National Weather Service, which runs the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii.

The cuts amount to about 15 percent of the National Weather Service’s $900 million budget, but putting them into effect now would require the agency to reduce spending by nearly 30 percent through the rest of the year.

good,It is a waste of money.the Japs got 10sec-1min warning,Big deal!
In 10 secounds you have only the time to panic 10 secounds sooner!

If the hardware and systems are already in place how much additional funding is needed?

Well, you gotta have at least several dozen guys, EACH paid 6 figures, watching porn 6 hours a day to budget anything the Federal Government does: Ask the SEC (Wall Street Oversight) or the MMA (Gulf Coast Drilling Oversight), or the CIA (9/11).

"Could"???

Will it or not?

it demands on how they allocate, even think progress has to use the noun 'responsibility';

– $1.2 billion cut in funding for NOAA, the government agency with “primary responsibility" for providing tsunami warnings to the nation, and a leadership role in tsunami observations and research.”
ThinkProgress » GOP Budget Cuts Would Lead To Furloughs At Tsunami Warning Centers, Undermining Their ‘Ability To React’

in the real world, bis. re-allocate after determining ' priority' for/of projects...;)

The Hopey Changey One has already cut this funding. God,Hopey Changeys are so dumb! Do some friggin research for God's sake. He already cut the funding for this. SHEESH!
