Yeah...this is one of my pet peeves, too.

But the reason this technique of misinformation is SO effective is because people are taught to think like TEAM players. and that then absolves them of the responsiblity to look into things too deeply.

Bills that are titled such that they claim to be the exact opposite of what they will really do are one example. the CLEAN SKYS ACT of 2003 is the PERFECT example of that kind of LIE by title

HEADLINES in the newspaper that mislead people who won't bother to read the actually news, only the headlines, are another technique of the propagandists, too.
