A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 68% of voters nationwide favor a mix of tax hikes and spending cuts to help reduce the federal budget deficit. There poll also says only 41% think the country is heading in the right direction I guess real world numbers depends greatly on what one wants to see.

They could be waiting to see if the Republicans will deal. If not, they're right, we won't be going in the right direction. If 68% wants it and they get it; they'll feel better. If they feel better, they'll spend more. More spending means more jobs will be created to meet the demand and more taxes collected to close the deficit. Win-win!

Obama has been in office for almost four years now has been reelected for two years he and his party controlled both the House and the Senate they still control the White House and the Senate for most of this time a majority has felt the country is heading in the wrong direction. There is a message in that it being that maybe the President should modify his positions that was a message Bill Clinton got and understood during his first term it's one it seems Obama still hasn't.
