Why Bernie Sanders is crashing Walmart's annual shareholders' meeting

Walmart is about 3 steps ahead of the Far Left on this.

I was in a Super Walmart last week and saw the Walmart robot working the aisles, it looked like it was taking inventory.

Robots can't do every job in the store yet, but they can do a lot and will do more. If WMT had a union, this would have violated the contract.

That's the real problem with Big Labor,they stifle technological improvement. Union Work Rules make it impossibly expensive to initiate technological advances, because everything is about protecting established jobs.

The 1877 rail strike was against the Westinghouse air brake which eliminated thousands of brakemen jobs on trains. The 1892 Homestead steel strike was against advancements in steel which allowed manufacture of structural steel making the material economical enough for high rise constructions.


Advancements are happening in retail- expect WMT robots to be nabbing shoplifters soon, I expect to see one taze and cuff a thief within 10 years
