Going to the NRA convention?

And why would they hold it there?
Surely they have a choice of where to hold it?

Kinda like scheduling an orgy in a Baptist church?

Think of all the guns that can be stolen from vehicles in the parking lot while the convention is going on :)

They say not to bring your guns.

I'm trying to find the convention center policy page but most, if not all large arenas, convention centers, for liability reasons, do not allow the carrying of loaded weapons by any but approved law enforcement/security personnel. When I would go to the gun show at the Expo Center in Northern Virginia your firearm could not be loaded and they would slip a zip tie through the barrel and chamber if you were bringing a firearm in to trade or sell to a licensed dealer.

I guess the NRA members will gladly sell out their right to carry for a nice hotel and resturant.

None of the convention centers and such are publically owned?

Even the publically (government) owned venues deal with lawyers and liability issues. In some cities there are ordinances prohibiting the carrying of weapons in any government building, even in many states that have non-restrictive gun laws.

Ohh well they will all be showing each other pictures of their guns.
