God Help us if this describes a significant portion of the Navy

We have to bring up boys to be men.

It's sucks to do that to a being, but it's the only way to survive. I get vilified for being TOO manly.

like wtf???

No one should have to be born male, but it's a part of life.

the sailors made a minor error------going slightly off course is
a minor error------the Iranian action was one of criminal aggression. The US response is idiotic----ie --no response but---BLAME THE KIDS and knock the officers to pieces

You're wrong.

It was reported the sailors provided phone numbers and computer passwords among other information. I heard that from a Pentagon briefing.

It sounds like a very poor small boat division in one particular command at the end of the known world.

An IG is absolutely needed to investigate the leadership.

WASHINGTON — U.S. sailors who blundered into Iranian waters in January divulged sensitive information to their captors while held at gunpoint by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a U.S. Navy report said Thursday.

It said some of the 10 crew members gave away capabilities of their vessels, one of them disclosing his vessel’s potential speed and suggesting it was on a “presence” mission to demonstrate U.S. military power in the Persian Gulf.

The incident, which embarrassed the United States, rattled nerves days before implementation of a nuclear accord between Iran and world powers negotiated by President Barack Obama’s administration.

“It is clear that some, if not all, crew members provided at least some information to interrogators beyond name, rank, service number and date of birth,” the report said.

there are reasons GOOSIE----- in THE HEAT OF BATTLE----
the HORMONES RUN AROUND THE BLOODSTREAM-----
and make people BRAVE. Out there---isolated with a bunch of Iranians on their heads and helpless------different situation

The problem was a chain of command leadership failure beginning right at the base.

Investigate it.

As the arm chair warriors ring in to tell us all how badass they'd be in that situation.

The boat was defective and broke down; it should not have ever sailed.

When captured, the crew failed to follow the regulations for denying information to the enemy.

The sailors apparently talked like jr high girls at a slumber party.

From the base commander to the crew, everybody is in trouble there.
