racism, xenophobia, and dreams of returning to a better age are hallmarks of social reactionary conservatism- as I said, hje was on the economic left and social far right

Hitler ordered those in an enemy nation, which was of a communist/socialist nature, killed during his attempt at Aryan global domination.... he was though a strong support of national socialism with him being the head of the ruling elite

He was a national socialist with serious mental problems and an unquenchable lust for power over his dream nation-state

Those are all traits that could be applied to a person, or group of people, regardless of their views on economics. Since socialism is an economic system and as an economic system it is considered left-wing, as you said, then we can conclude that Nazism is indeed a left-wing ideology.

I love, KK, how you simply ignore the far right social policies because you really want to call hitler a socialist

next you people will say he was a liberal

Make up your mind.

The Nazis were not Rightwing but Totalitarian Left

Incorrect. They were definitely right-wing.

no wonder I hate nazis so much, according to your chart they are in the opposite corner from where our country was originally founded and where I want us to return to :D

I don't ignore them, I simply point out that racism and the other traits you listed could be applied to anyone regardless of political or economic ideology. You can have racist capitalists, and racist communists. You could have racist Republicans, and racist Democrats. Trying to say that racism is a left or right ideology is ridiculous.

You can have racist capitalists, and racist communists.

Social and economic ideology are not the same thing

hence economic left and social far right

trying to pinpoint things on a single sliding scale of left and right extremely ignorant

Trying to put social traits on a left-right scale at all is ignorant and arbitrary, since they can be attributed to anyone.

The very definition of conservatism is reactionism

the right wing is the reactionary wing- perhaps you've forgotten history and where the terms come from

Hitlers was a strong social reactionary ,racist xenophobe who wanted to return to the mythical staus quo ante

His social policies were quintessential far right wing

I haven't forgotten anything. I simply see no value in putting traits that could be applied to anyone regardless of political or economic ideology on a left-right scale. To call a National Socialist a right-winger just because he was racist, when even you admit that socialism is a left-wing ideology, makes no sense to me.

You;re still stuck on the foolish notion that all systems neatly fit on a single scale?

You're ignorant, kid. Lay off the propaganda.

You're stuck on the foolish notion that that's what I believe, despite my repeatedly correcting you.

Jillian, just own up to who the Most Successful Leftists were: Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Fidel.

Stop lying about Jesus and God being on your side

What does the Bible say about Christian tithing?

Bible.com

  • All that believed were together, and had all things in common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
    (Acts 2:44-45)

  • There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold. They laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. There was a Levite, a native of Cyprus, Joseph, to whom the apostles gave the name Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”). He sold a field that belonged to him, then brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
    (Acts 4:34-37)
This is what the Lord has commanded: Gather of it, every man of you, as much as he can eat; you shall take an omer apiece, according to the number of persons who each of you has in his tent. And the people of Israel did so; they gathered some more, some less. But when they measured it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; each gathered according to what he could eat
(Ex. 16:16-18)

What Does the Bible Say About Socialism?

There is an important element that you are missing from this and that Jesus told his followers that you will be judged by the standards you apply to others not the standards others apply to you. He is saying that you whatever moral code you live by and judge others by you will be judged by or be judged by your own moral standard that you choose no matter how high or low that is.

In other words, the freedom to pursue your own conscience.

Some people don't mind hording all the wheat for themselves and as long as they don't condemn others for it then they are fine.

i thought he said "judge not lest ye be judged".

*shrug*

There are three accounts in the new testament and each says a variation of that. The one I was referring to is that you will be judged by the standard you apply to others. It is saying that you should have moral standards and whatever ones those are you will be judged by. To me, its like saying the right to pursue your own conscience.

yeah!!!! All those kids from the wpa program brought to you buy the new deal of the 1930's who if alive today collect social security did not go off to fight the japanese and nazi's just to have this nation take on socialistic traits!!!!!!

You know, I've always thought that when discussions come up, it's helpful to use the dictionary to define the words (as used in normal language) rather than what people's IDEAS of the words are........

From Dictionary.com

Now, we can all see that Nazis, fascists and conservatives have a GREAT deal in common, because they all want to dictate what others are and are not able to do.

Same with Christians.

What happened to live and let live? Remember, we all are free to do whatever we want to do.

I think he is trying to say that racism is not a political idealogy since it does not have anything to do with the government like believing in the three branches of government or state's rights. Those beliefs have a lot to do with the structure, laws, and actions a government takes which is why they belong in the realm of politics. Fascism, communism, federalism, and etc also belong in the realm of politics but racism is a personal belief that someone holds that belongs on the same place as believing ford is better than chevy. No one would ever say there preference in cars is political so why is your preference in people considered political.

I however believe that thinking a person's personal belief belongs in the ream of politics is a symtom of totalitarian thought because why on earth is a person's internal character associated with the force of government and subject to the authority of the state.
