You're only half right. She's not religious at all.
She gets by telling herself and everyone else that Obama's policies towards Israel are nothing new, the same as they've always been. This has the stink of truth to it, the U.S. has never moved its embassy to J'lem. But it's a stink because it is blatantly untrue. Obama is the most anti-Israel president in some time. I'm guessing here but I suspect it has to do with Israel being painted as the colonial power dominating the poor 3rd world palestinians, who are waging a valiant war of national liberation by blowing the Israelis--and each other--up.
