Anyone who buys a GM product hates America.

If you want to support Americans, buy a Hyundai, a Kia, or a Toyota. They're much better cars, and much less expensive.

Everyone is bitching about GM making a business decision to manufacturer some of its cars in Mexico. GM cars are a big seller in Latin America also. Many parts for the GM cars are still made here state side as many are made overseas.

Many companies have moved overseas in the manufacturing sector. Instead of attacking companies that do it to stay competitive with their competition look to the causes of why companies move overseas.
(1) Low Wages - Minimum wage is not the culprit here, because manufacturing jobs usually always pay much much more than $7.50. Especially in the auto sector. Therefore, we won't be able to get down to their wages ever.

(2) Free Trade - Free Trade in many instances works against us. We need to rework them, but getting rid of free trade is not the most ideal way to combat the issue. People don't realize how much we actually ship out of the country to other countries. While manufacturing has taken a hit, we still produce the more of the world's good then any other country. Free trade agreements must be reworked, but its not the end all to the problem. What we need to do is make free trade work for us, by making enteral changes.

(3) Taxation - Believe it or not, America has become a taxaholic nation. Our Corporate Tax is 2nd to Japan, Combine the State and Federal income tax and we are some of the highest in the nation, the payroll tax is crippling, the capital gains tax stiffles investment, we have some of the highest property taxes in the world and so on and so forth. What we need to do is get rid of the corporate, sales, capital gains and income taxe and replace it with the Fair Tax. While also outlawing State and Federal Pension funds (which unsustainable and account for the majority of about every states budget). If we give America comes a subtantial tax benefit, that could offset the 3rd world's slave wage benefits.

(4) Regulations - We over-regulate, over-burden, over-form, over-complicate and create way too many unnecessary government agencies that only raise the redtape and costs. We need a serious coming to Jesus here!

(5) The Unions - Unions have a place, but the power, corruptions and waste have driven jobs overseas in DROVES! They have become a much greater evil than hero. They are killing sectors worse than anything out there. We much recognize that they need a place, but they must be scaled back big time and have a lot of their destructive power stripped.

(6) Energy - Believe it or not, but cheap energy is a huge plus of keeping a business in America. However, kiss this advantage away if cap and trade comes. Say no to cap and trade, while keeping the push for more wind, solar and hydro energy. Push for fusion energy. Don't allow the greenies to prematurely phase out coal and natural gas.

(7) Health Care - The one things that wasn't discussed in the healthcare debate was the ginormous cost to business health insurance has. Believe it or not, but health insurance is a substantial disadvantage to our companies that pick up a good chunk of the cost. Not sure how we do it, but health insurance taken away from the employer based system to a more individualized system.

Look at the true culprits: Taxation, healthcare, Unions and Over-regulation! Change these (while promoting out current advantages: shipping costs, cheap energy, established infrastructure and a well educated hard working work-force) and fair trade will work in our advantage!

It's just one hypocrisy after another from Barack Obama. The president sold the taxpayer bailout of General Motors by telling us that it was needed to save jobs. Obviously it doesn't mean American jobs because Government Motors has decided to spend half a billion, taxpayer dollars, to build a new plant in Mexico.

That's where OUR stimulus money went. And Dodge sent there pick-up truck division down there too.

American Cars NO except for FORD

One important point. If a car manufacturer makes a defective car that was made in Mexico, who are you going to sue if your family is killed driving in it? Won't it be much harder to establish fault? Are you going to sue Mexico?

Now there is an interesting thought. Part of the hype for NAFTA was the idea that this would raise Mexican wages, thereby reducing illegal immigration.

Ah, if only that were true... I think some of us forget that the reason many companies, such as GM, are moving jobs South of the border is for cheaper labor. The Average pay for the area the GM plant;

The official daily minimum wage in Mexico for 2010 rose by 4.85%.

The minimum salary in "Geographical Area A" is MX$57.46 pesos per day; "Geographical Area B" MX$55.84 pesos a day; and "Geographical Area C" MX$54.47 pesos. [currency converter].

Area A: The states of: Baja California, Baja California Sur, Mexico City; some municipalities of the states of: Mexico, Sonora, Tamaulipas Veracruz and Chihuahua.

Area B: The states of: Jalisco, Nuevo León and some municipalities of the States of: Sonora, Tamaulipas y Veracruz (not covered by A, above).

Now granted GM may pay more than the average minimum wage(roughly $4.49 a day in U.S. currency) but I can't imagine much. Why would someone stay down there making not even $5 a day when they could come up here and get away with $5/hr pouring concrete(which doesn't sound like much to us but a weeks pay would probably be more than a months salary at the GM plant)
