''General Motors warned Friday that another wave of tariffs being considered by the Trump administration could force the company to scale back its business and cost American jobs.

In comments submitted to the Commerce Department, the automaker said that the tariffs, if approved, could drive individual vehicle prices up thousands of dollars, stifling demand. Such costs would need to be borne either by consumers or the company'

That's not an appropriate response, dummy. Those people running GMC will not be harmed, those who work in the factories subject to layoffs will.

Which does not invalidate that they will cut jobs if there is another wave of tariffs.

Wow...you know NOTHING about a trade war obviously.

    School is in dumb ass:

When a trade war happens, domestic manufacturers gain a monopoly as all foreign competition is removed. This allows the former (that means the first one - idiot) to raise the price on whatever they sell without fear of losing market share. This makes their profits rise. It also makes their stock price/dividends rise. And it's the billionaire's who own the stock who make the money.
Meanwhile - everyone else has to pay a LOT more for everything they buy.
SOOO....the middle class/poor get poorer and the rich get richer.

    School is out.

Got it now - macroeconomic moron?
Obviously not as this is WAY out of your intellectual/educational league.

We are done here...bu bye now.

When people have no job they can not buy anything, so raise the price all you want no one will be buying.

GM is not an American company. Don't care if they like tariffs or not, an mire than I care whether Mexico likes them or not.

They like Red China just fine, loves them some Commies, so they sholdn't have a problem if the U.S. takes the very same approach Red China takes toward businesses who want to sell in the U.S. markets, right? Right!

Heavens help us. It's a shame S W believes the crap, and we know the simple like Picaro will.

Prices are already going up, manufacturing continues to flee the country for a signficant negative job loss in that industry, and job losses are coming country wide.
