This does not surprise me but it is irritating. According to a few posters on here people on the right hate science. This is such a bald face lie it is pathetic. What we do not like is bad or erroneous science where results are hidden and/or obscured from review. The kind of science that damages people and nature beyond measure.

We present for the first time a comparative analysis of blood and organ system data from trials with rats fed three main commercialized genetically modified (GM) maize (NK 603, MON 810, MON 863), which are present in food and feed in the world. NK 603 has been modified to be tolerant to the broad spectrum herbicide Roundup and thus contains residues of this formulation. MON 810 and MON 863 are engineered to synthesize two different Bt toxins used as insecticides. Approximately 60 different biochemical parameters were classified per organ and measured in serum and urine after 5 and 14 weeks of feeding. GM maize-fed rats were compared first to their respective isogenic or parental non-GM equivalent control groups. This was followed by comparison to six reference groups, which had consumed various other non-GM maize varieties. We applied nonparametric methods, including multiple pairwise comparisons with a False Discovery Rate approach. Principal Component Analysis allowed the investigation of scattering of different factors (sex, weeks of feeding, diet, dose and group). Our analysis clearly reveals for the 3 GMOs new side effects linked with GM maize consumption, which were sex- and often dose-dependent. Effects were mostly associated with the kidney and liver, the dietary detoxifying organs, although different between the 3 GMOs. Other effects were also noticed in the heart, adrenal glands, spleen and haematopoietic system. We conclude that these data highlight signs of hepatorenal toxicity, possibly due to the new pesticides specific to each GM corn. In addition, unintended direct or indirect metabolic consequences of the genetic modification cannot be excluded.

Monsanto purposely denied results of the studies to market this garbage through the world. mon-my, santo-saint is a giant lie that has spread it's foul seeds around the entire world.
Our analysis highlights that the kidneys and liver as particularly important on which to focus such research as there was a clear negative impact on the function of these organs in rats consuming GM maize varieties for just 90 days.

oh and don't look at the Government to protect you either.... Monsanto owns it.

Those on the right only hate science if it proves their ideals wrong.

Their worst problems are with math. Their smaller govt and balanced budget math needs some work.

Putting back in regulatory restrictions on the monopolies that brought us to this point needs a ton of work.

I truly hope that they are seriously going to do something about this. It appears maybe they are at least looking into it.

JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AND USDA TO HOLD PUBLIC WORKSHOPS
TO EXPLORE COMPETITION ISSUES IN THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY

Workshops Will Promote Open Dialogue on Legal and Economic Issues
in the Agriculture Industry

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric Holder and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced today that the Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will hold joint public workshops to explore competition issues affecting the agriculture industry in the 21st century and the appropriate role for antitrust and regulatory enforcement in that industry. These are the first joint Department of Justice/USDA workshops ever to be held to discuss competition and regulatory issues in the agriculture industry.

The joint Department of Justice/USDA workshops will address the dynamics of competition in agriculture markets including, among other issues, buyer power (also known as monopsony) and vertical integration. They will examine legal doctrines and jurisprudence and current economic learning, and will provide an opportunity for farmers, ranchers, consumer groups, processors, the agribusinesses, and other interested parties to provide examples of potentially anticompetitive conduct. The workshops will also provide an opportunity for discussion for any concerns about the application of the antitrust laws to the agricultural industry.

The goals of the workshops are to promote dialogue among interested parties and foster learning with respect to the appropriate legal and economic analyses of these issues, as well as to listen to and learn from parties with real-world experience in the agriculture sector.

"Maintaining a robust agricultural sector is crucial to the strength of the American economy and to who we are as a nation," said Attorney General Holder. "Through the dialogue established in these workshops and, ultimately through our actions, we are committed to ensuring that competition and regulatory actions benefit all American consumers and businesses."

"It is important to have a fair and competitive marketplace that benefits agriculture, rural economies and American consumers," said Agriculture Secretary Vilsack. "The joint workshops between the Department of Justice and USDA will allow a dialogue on very important issues facing agriculture today."

The first workshop will be held in early 2010. While some of the workshops may be held in Washington, D.C., others will be held regionally. The Department of Justice and USDA are soliciting public comments from lawyers, economists, agribusinesses, consumer groups, academics, agricultural producers, agricultural cooperatives, and other interested parties.

"For the first time ever, farmers, ranchers, consumers groups, agribusinesses and the federal government will openly discuss legal and economic issues associated with competition in the agriculture industry,"said Christine A. Varney, Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division. 'This is an important step forward in determining the best course of action to address the unique competition issues in agriculture."

The Department of Justice and USDA are interested in receiving comments on the application of antitrust laws to monopsony and vertical integration in the agricultural sector, including the scope, functionality and limits of current or potential rules.

The Department and USDA are also inviting input on additional topics that might be discussed at the workshops, including the impact of agriculture concentration on food costs, the effect of agricultural regulatory statutes or other applicable laws and programs on competition, issues relating to patent and intellectual property affecting agricultural marketing or production, and market practices such as price spreads, forward contracts, packer ownership of livestock before slaughter, market transparency, and increasing retailer concentration.

The public and press are invited to attend the hearings. Additional information about the date, time and location of the workshops will be provided at a later date. Interested parties should submit written comments in both paper and electronic form to the Department of Justice no later than Dec. 31, 2009. All comments received will be publicly posted. Two paper copies should be addressed to the Legal Policy Section, Antitrust Division, U.S. Department of Justice, 450 5th Street, N.W., Suite 11700, Washington, D.C. 20001. The Department's Antitrust Division is requesting that the paper copies of each comment be sent by courier or overnight service, if possible. The electronic version of each comment should be submitted to [email protected]. Detailed agendas and schedules for the workshops will be made available on the Antitrust Division's web site at U.S. Department of Justice: Antitrust Division.

Dear Rod: Thanks for the posting which I will follow in the future, expecting rebuttals and rebuttals to rebuttals like the 9/11 debate that is still being refuted back and forth.

Can I ask your help to find medical research on the effect of spiritual healing prayer, specifically demonic deliverance on mental health or criminal sickness?

I believe such research, when established by medical professionals, will change health care as well as criminal justice and other systems based on punishing criminal sickness by detention or death, instead of treating as a deadly disease that can be diagnosed and possibly cured by earlier intervention.

Do you know of any medical research?
I am debating this with a fundamental atheist online at backpage.com who does not trust when I cite research or methods from Francis MacNutt (or Larry Dossey or Dale Matthews) whom he assumes are biasing the results because of Christian beliefs.

If you can refer me to any other resources, that would help. I also cited the advocacy of Scott Peck in urging professional research and development in the field of demonic oppression and spiritual therapy, also blaming the "false opposition" between religion and science that has impeded progress and focus on solutions.

Thank you very much
Emily

I'm thinking on it. My doctor told me about a study that was done on hospital patients and prayer teams. I'll ask him about that first chance I get. This study was written in a journal about nine ten years ago if I recall correct.

Thousands of scientist through the ages have study the human spirit. I'm sure there should be enough information out there to bring about a comprehensive study on it. Even our own government has study these matters intensely. Maybe you could get some help from some of these government studies already done? War veterans would be a good place to start. Not all but some come home and have a very hard time overcoming what they have experience, done and seen. I think of the children's great grandpa who suffered terribly yet most would have never known it unless they were able to get close to him, which he rarely allowed with the exception of the children and I. He was very private about the whole matter yet being close one could see it and it was heart breaking to know such a dear man suffer so much.
