I think a comparison to Stephen Colbert is more appropriate. Beck is sort of like what Colbert would be if he actually meant what he said.

Regardless, I still maintain that your point is at best flawed and at worst completely disingenuous. You and I might find Beck's antics laughable and rightly dismiss anything he has to say, but it's pretty clear that he's not intending for it to be taken as comedy.

I agree, he has a kind of passion that reminds you of dictators or fire and brimstone preachers. Not everyone sees humor, others may see it as genuine.

My favorite recently was the woman accusing a gay, Jewish man, Harvard educated, of being sympathetic to nazi ideology.

Jon Stewart is hilarious.

Glenn Beck is a liar for hire.

I think O'Reilly is honest, he's all over the map and goofy, but sometimes he makes sense. He's a crazy egomaniac, but I think he believes what he is saying. Beck's a fake.

Stewart has been funny to me for years, but i also find beck to be a very entertaining change of pace.

Yes, we like to actually try and understand the opposing points of view, no matter how utterly devoid of logic or sanity they may be. To do this, unfortunately, we must occasionally tune in to Fox, and be subject to their lunatic rants.

Fox viewers, on the other hand, bury their heads in the sand and refuse to watch anything but Fox.

Which are the reasons for Fox's unusually high ratings.

I've seen him trashing some of the republicans, especially bush.

But only after it was politically expedient to do so, and after Bush didn't have any more elections to win.

Where were his Bush crticisms in the fall of 2004, hmmm? Beck started criticizing Bush at the exact moment the right-wing media told him he should start criticizing Bush.

And the entire "Obama is a facist" thing was a right wing talking point that Beck ran with...
