Giving thanks -- for capitalism

No one is against capitalism . The reason the us has been so successful is cause we mix that capitalism wh some regulation to keep things under control .

Once Regulation exceeds Free Markets, you have Socialism wich locks in a true 1 percent and no Middle Class. Immigrants leave countries that have too much regulation and no middle class so they can come to US for true opportunity.

Sure . Early 1900's. Robber Barrons, monopolies etc. by 1920s things were really getting out of control . Monopolies were killing capitalism , influencing our leaders , and destroying our environment .

In 1920 the USA had the highest standard of living in the world. How does that equate to "destroying itself?"

BTW, there were no monopolies and the only real "robber barons" were crony capitalists who were sucking on the government tit. They robbed the taxpayers blind.

There was no middle class . Just really rich and really poor.

So who bought the 20 million model Ts that henry for built?
Henry Ford only built a little over 15 million between 1908 and 1927.

Model T - Facts & Summary - HISTORY.com

You are as ignorant on this as everything else you post about.

Henry Ford is a good example . He PAID his employees enough so they could actually buy his cars .

If only we had that attitude today .

What is he a "good example" of?

Whether they bought his cars was irrelevant to Henry Ford. He paid them enough so that they would submit to the discipline required by the assembly line.

Monopolies fail and fall apart every time they're tried... except when supported by government action.

In other words, except when capitalism is spoiled by government interference.
The Founders put corporations under a heavy hand, wanna complain about how the Founders looked upon them?

Bripat,

Regs are responsive to bad behavior . Our meat was poison . Regs come in . People burned up in horrible fires . Regs come in .

There's always the danger of over regulation . But that danger is better than having non regs at all!

Was the meat poison? Do you have any evidence of people getting sick or dying from tainted meat? All you know is what some commie wrote in a work of fiction called "The Jungle."

Lawsuits work a lot better than regulations at preventing dangerous corporate behavior.

We've seen thru history that capitalism will destroy itself if left unchecked .
Wrong. We have never seen that. We have seen that when gov't interferes with the free market bad things happen and people tend to blame capitalism.

We're slowly heading back towards that...We need someone like Sanders to enforce the anti-trust laws and break some of these huge corps up and force them to pay taxes.
Silly boy, we are heading toward socialism, unfortunately.

Socialism has been tried who knows how many times over history, and has failed every time long term.

It's not attitude, it's economics. Henry Ford did not have factors such as high corporate taxes, regulation, unlimited legal liability, and import protections.

Yes and the advocates for Socialism always tell how it is going to benefit the middle class when in fact, Socialism does not have a middle class..... It's a locked in 1 percent and then the masses.

All the winner countries are socialists . Us has been for at least 100 years.

I did not make up the 1920-30s . We have seen what uncontrolled capitalism will do . No matter how you righties want to re write history .

Those who do not learn from history ...

We have also seen uncontrolled regulation and government control can do to an economy and middle class. Limited Socialism. Thatcher was right: you eventually run out of people to pay for it.
