Give Them Credit

Well perhaps a Political Science course would help you understand how Political systems evolve...I haven't heard of beheadings in Egypt over this and anyone can see that a pluralistic society is developing...most revolutions are bloody, thankfully Egypt may show a peaceful way.
It looks like, Phillip, that you think differently from most Americans regarding this Arab Spring. You really should read up about what is going on in these countries to see how the Islamists are trying to run it. Do you really think the Islamists will be willing to give up any power?

Nobody is willing to give up power especially dictators...there was a fair election and this revolutions like all others take time to sort out...but you can't have elections and bitch about the outcome like our Republicans at home.

Morsi made a huge mistake with his decree and it may cost him his referendum and his office...Democracy isn't pretty sometimes.

Or he may just become the latest in a long line of dictators, this time with an Islamist bent, who declare themselves "Emperor for Life."

But if you were keeping up with the news, Phillip, you would have read that there are many in Egypt who are still for him and don't think he made a mistake at all. Imagine how there are so many Islamists in that country who don't want a ban on slavery in their constitution!!! One would think that if a country were on its way toward some kind of democracy, they certainly would want a ban on slavery in their constitution in this modern world.
Women’s equality and ban on slavery absent from Egyptian constitution. But don’t insult the prophet » The Right Scoop -
