We have an intolerant lefty agenda that can't do what it really wants, which is big Government control.

That's a construct of your own opinion. It makes it easy to oppose those who you disagree with. It's largely a canard and a device concocted by talk show hosts to gin up fear and hatred.

Therefore they need to attack and demonize any and all who have a different point of view.

But nothing like the calls of fear and hatred of Islam? Isn't this a bit of the pot calling the kettle black?

They actually think that collectivism works and that individuals can not govern themselves and therefore needs Government to tell them what they can and can not do.

But we desperately need a constitution to keep those who do not find Islam worthy of protections. We need a constitution to protect the rights of the unpopular. Popular rights need no such protection due to their popularity. But if someone speaks by burning a flag or answering a call from a minaret, the constitution stops the 'righteous' from harming the innocent.

The Constitution protects the religious and the unreligious alike, the popular and the unpopular alike.

Anybody who wishes to make the secular document one of religious persecution spits on the Founders.
