You've heard the saying, "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for life" or some other way of saying it.

President Obama and the left in this country are the ones who want to give a man a fish. The reason why is because once that man learns to fish, he will no longer be dependent on the government and the government will loose control of that man.

The left in this country has been working for a very long time making every citizen dependent on the government. It's the only way anyone on the left can get elected to office now. The regular citizen will vote for anybody on the left as long as they keep getting stuff and they don't care what else the left does to this country. As long as their belly is full, they don't care.

It's a shame really.

There in lies the difference. We should be giving a hand up instead of a hand out.

What would be wrong with some type of community service from these individuals or classes of instruction to prepare them for the workforce as a type of requirement for the income they receive from the government? They could be building a resume of qualifications and establishing a work habit that would enable them to be employable in the future.

Participants would be working for companies at no cost to the company and if the company liked their work, they would hire them. Then the government would be notified and the government checks would be stopped when the employee was gainfully employed. Thise who chose to go to some kind of training could do so at no cost before volunteering at a workplace to build a resume while on welfare.

But, work or training would be a requirement for anyone who was able bodied to continuing to get welfare checks, food stamps or any entitlement under the age of 55. Day Care would be provided by other welfare participants meeting the obligations of the requirements of the welfare system.

The fact is, most of us who work aren't working for ourselves, we are working to make someone else rich.

To use fish as an example, it would be like if you caught 10 fish, ate one, five of them go to guy who invested in your fishing boat, one goes to the government and the other two you maybe get to trade for other goods...

The problem is the plutocrat wants to take nine fish, then point at the government guy and say, "That guy wants half your fish!"

Social Security and Medicare have been supported by the working class and businesses over 50 years. If the government had managed that money properly, it would be paying for itself instead of running shortages. Another example of how stupid the powers that be are when it comes to investment.

I guess we didn't borrow any money from China to give to, what is it 15, failed "green" companies in the last 3 years.
