Gingrich IS TOO GODAMN OLD TO BE ELECTED

Romney is the GOPs only chance to get obama out

Newt is 68

Mitt is 64

Romney can't get Republicans to support him, much less anyone else.

That's odd. I'm a Republican and I've supported Romney and will do so if he is the nominee. And I can easily support him for the nomination. I just havent made a final decision yet.

He was the conservative in the race in 08, with Rush and everone else endorsing him, nothing has changed since 2008 and now all of a sudden he is not conservative enough. I have read a great deal about Romney and in my opinion Romney fooled the state of Ma into voting for him, as he is a conservative. The ONLY flip that I have read, and I do check the facts, is on abortion he used to be pro-choice and is now pro-life, he did that back in the 90's, but so did Reagan and Bush. I will support Romney as he took a deep, deep blue state with a 3 billion dollar deficit and turned that into a 2 billion dollar surplus and he did that in a short 4 years without raising taxes. He has my vote and my support and if people would do their own fact checking instead of listening to the Rush's of this world they would know that he is a true conservative. Rush is off of his rocker on this one.

old fat white wall retread doesn't cut it

what other choices

Romney? the kinder gentler pacifist retread

or you could have obumer the alinsky/clowerpiven retread who has matched his protege carter with 9 consecutive loses in the dj..result loser

Cain is bombarded with unfounded hit pieces(ask politico) and we are all distracted and the media isn't reporting kaos outside our border financially/militarily.

YOu're also a member of the same cult he's in.

For those of us not drinking the koolaid, he's a really bad idea.

You see, the thing was, he wasn't the "conservative" in the race in 2008.

he was the choice of the Wall Street faction of the GOP. And he still is.

You have to understand why Rush endorsed him in 2008. It wasn't because he was 'the conservative'. It was because there was a long standing emnity between Rush and McCain that had nothing to do with idealogy. Fred Thompson (if he wasn't just a stalking horse for McCain) turned into a big flop, and Mike Huckabee had some silly idea that the central message of Christianity is not "tax cuts for rich people."

Incidently, I've pointed out a whole bunch of issues where this creep has flip-flopped. So please don't make a statement like "The ONLY flip that I have read, and I do check the facts, is on abortion he used to be pro-choice and is now pro-life". You are willfully ignoring his flip flops on the auto bailout, gun control, gay marriage, his own health care program.

Are you waiting to see who is winning in the primaries? I look at most Indes as indecisive so they can hate everyone equally and as people who always want to be on the winning side.

Newt doesn't have the temperament to be President. He's a hot head just like McCain used to be.

So what?

Frankly, this is a great time for a hot-head.

This is the great time to have a boss who is going to come down and rip off your nutsack if you keep fucking up.

I'd rather have a hot-headed Gingrich than a petulant Chicago Street PUnk, which is what Obama does when he gets frustrated.

I agree. This country is begging for leadership. It is certainly not coming from congress. A president with courage and vision is needed. That said, I will vote for the Republican nominee, regardless of his/her name, age, religion, ethnicity, or whatever, as long as it is anyone but Obama.

 This post is an exercise in contradictions.

I think most people who aren't partisans aren't paying attention to any of this shit.

I told a Herman Cain joke yesterday, and a couple of co-workers had no idea why it was funny because they had no idea who he was.

("What did the German Girl say to Herman Cain?" "Nein, Nein, Nein". Blank stares.)

So my guess is that this will get resolved with half the country not having much of a say in the issue, and people will be saying, "How did we get stuck with these two turds?"

Maybe I should start a new thread for this but ...

I keep hearing about how Cain's demise will benefit Newt.

How can the failure of one failed and fired businessman, failed and fired lobbyist, serial philanderer, radio entertainer benefit a failed politician, recipient of 80+ ethics violations and $300K fine for same, drummed out of D.C. for the low life he is, dead beat dad, serial adulterer serious scum sucker radical right wing religious nutjob?

If anything, Newt, whose name just happens to also mean a cold blooded reptile ... Newt is the one who should be resigning in shame.

But, since neither were probably ever actually running for office but rather on book selling tours before "Herb" goes to work for Focks, it may not matter anyway.

Hate...thy name is Democrat. You can't win on the issues because the only thing socialism has ever proven is it doesn't work. So it's ad hominem for you, baby.

Gingrich isn't too old. Reagan had Alzheimers and Republicans rewrote history, turning him into the best president ever.

Again, why do you need to make stuff up? The best in recent history doesn't equal the best ever.

Coolidge was better.

Lincoln and Washington better

I'd argued Adams, Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe were better.

After that... id have to think about it.

The best in recent history and I"M making stuff up? Hilarious.

Reagan was not the best, but he was over all a good President. He was exactly what was need at the time, The right leader to over see the fall of the USSR and Warsaw Pact alliance.

Considering how drastically the office can age even a young man it is debatable how wise it is to have a geriatric president. Age is not an automatic sign of wisdom, there is no fool like an old fool.

George Washington wasn't young
Reagan wasn't young
Fdr surely wasn't young

Obama screwed up the economy even more and he is a young.
FDR was 50 the first time he was elected president.

Agreed. Its not necessarily age, but judgement. Gingrich has a warped view of government. I can see him as an adviser not the decider. The problem is that unless one party has a super-majority nothing can happen, and I generally like gridlock.

Chris Matthews had a very whiny critique' today on Newt. If MSNBC whines about FXN it should look at its becoming a democrat propaganda outlet. At least FXN presents both sides.

If Fox News hadn't been around, nobody would have heard the name "Gingrich" after he was forced out of Congress. He's really a detestable human being who will say anything to get elected.

The GOP electorate may be just catatonic enough to accommodate him too...wow.

This is why I'm hoping they do just that.
