Gingrich Backs Obamacare's Individual Mandate Requiring Health Insurance

And Newt is done for.

individual mandate was a CONSERVATIVE/REPUBLICAN idea. it was devised by the heritage foundation as an alternative to a single payor system.

the only reason the rightwingnuts hate it now is that president obama passed it. because the right no longer has any principles... conservative or otherwise.

but don't worry... newt woke up this a.m. and said he was against it.

so i think it's safe to say "he was for it before he was against it".

huckabee -- done
trump -- done
newt -- done
palin -- done
romney?? shouldn't be done --- but might be.

leaving the stupid people who are unelectable to carry the rightwingnut banner.

way to go.

Actually, it's

Huckabee - not running
Trump - was never gonna run
Newt - Who gives a shit? He won't win.
Palin - Never actually announced, but the left struggle with that FACT.
Romney - from those currently declared, could be the next President.

And.... stupid people elected the last president too. So ain't no big shit.

no. smarter people who knew palin was a train wreck elected the last president.

no matter how much you pretend anything else was the case.

now, let's try agian...

huckabee... not running b/c fauxnews paid him too much

trump... imploded on the birth certificate issue. went boom. doubled down on stupid and no, probably wasn't ever going to declare his finances, which is what i said originally i suspect.

romney won't get the nomination. he should. but the rightwingnuts hate romneycare. he's not winning. and even with romneycare... the rightwingnuts think he's the wrong brand of christian.

palin... no credibility... but that wouldn't stop the rightwingnuts. but fauxnews pays her too much money. doubt she'll give that up. she'd rather stay the tweeting twit tossing grenades at people way smarter and more accomplished than she is.

that leaves bachmann.....

and ron paul...

paul pisses off the neocons. never happen.

that leaves bachmann... who is just stupid enough and extreme enough to get the nod from "the base"

no. smarter people who knew palin was a train wreck elected the last president.

Gullible people who like to think they're smart elected the current president, falling for his hope and change bullshit. People with actual common sense and objectivity saw through that crap for what it was. All you had to do was look at Obama's past political and personal record to see what an abject failure he was going to be and has turned out to be.

The only surprise I've had in the past two and a half years is the assassination of Osama bin Laden. Everything else that has taken place I fully expected.

Gingrich Backs Obamacare's Individual Mandate Requiring Health Insurance

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Sunday that he strongly supports a federal mandate requiring citizens to buy health insurance – a position that has been rejected by many Republicans, including several who likely will be running against him for the Republican presidential nomination.

Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Gingrich told host David Gregory that he continues to advocate for a plan he first called for in the early 1990s as a Congressman, which requires every uninsured citizen to purchase or acquire health insurance.

Gregory played a clip of Gingrich speaking during an appearance on Meet the Press in October 1993:

“I am for people, individuals -- exactly like automobile insurance -- individuals having health insurance and being required to have health insurance. And I am prepared to vote for a voucher system which will give individuals, on a sliding scale, a government subsidy so we insure that everyone as individuals have health insurance.”

most people had no illusion about hope/change. i figure there are about equal numbers of true believers left and right.

but i'd have cut off my right arm before i pulled a lever tht would have left the tweetng twit a heartbeat away from the presidency.

i have no problem with the president. could he have been better? yes?

could he have been worse?

absolutely. he could have been bush.

The mandate is a Republican idea. It was proposed by Orrin Hatch and about 8 other Republicans still in office back in the early 90's in opposition to Hillary's proposal. And now they bitch about it and call it Marxist.

Why do I live in a world with delusional idiots and partisan hacks? It hurts.

Thats the modern GOP.

I didn't care for Newt before. Now, he has given me even more refined polished reasons to detest him as a candidate.

Fuck off Newt.

The GOP has some serious problems. You have become one of those problems. You are yesterday's news.

You accomplished a little bit in the receding pages of history. But your day is done.

Go write a dull book or sumpin'.

newt has always been one of the republicans' problems.

we just think he is for different reasons.

Yeah. For you leftwingloons, he's not liberal enough.

For conservatives, he's too willing to suck up to liberals.

As well he should. Good on him. I heard the words come out of his mouth on Meet the Press yesterday. He didn't mince his words. Just like when Boehner (R) said, about oil companies “gonna pay their fair share in taxes and they should,”

Exactly. I assumed the Republicans would hound Obama and come out against every position he takes, even if it was their position first. Like Romneycare. They did exactly what I expected. Unexpected was their trying to take credit for Bin Laden. I didn't think even they could stoop that low. The GOP is still a "part of surprises".

How do you pay for insurance if you're unemployed? You have to pay for car insurance if you're unemployed or just not drive. I assume the same would be true for health insurance.

There's a little bit of a difference.... if you don't drive... you find someone to haul your ass. IF you get sick and need medical care and can't get it????? You FUCKING DIE.

Maybe you're alright with that... I'm not.

We need a god damned Public Option.... if not single payer(ooooohhhh.. Socialism alert!!!)

Funny, economists call that "fiasco" a "stunning success". But what do you expect? Seriously. All Republicans know how to do is cut benefits for children and the elderly and give tax breaks to billionaires. And we saw how well that's worked out.

Q&A: Was Cash for Clunkers a Success? - TIME

Was the cash-for-clunkers program a success?
The short answer is yes. The program accomplished what it was set out to do, which was to get consumers back into the showrooms and to jump-start new-vehicle sales.

Maybe the State will provide stasis chambers until you can pay. :eusa_pray:

And then make you pay for it? OR, more to President Obama's evident liking, they'll drop the bill on your grandkids!

There's the Republican plan: Die quickly.

Nice try Rdunce, but you got confused.

That's the Obamination Plot -- er -- Plan.

They call it "Obama(don't)care." How are we gonna pay for this shit, Mr. President?

Obama don't care.

Pass ALL bills along to the next fucking generation or two or three.

He's a real douche that President of ours.

yet she still hasn't got off her knees for Clinton and the Obama

hmmm...by reading all these posts, we should just skip the election process and kiss our asses goodbye. According to the "experts" here, only a democrat with zero political talent can win an election. And look where that has gotten us...

Just sayin

I'd ask you to explain how you came up with that response, but I'm afraid you'd just get more lost in the translation. But try if you dare and then we'll see who the sucker is.
