Because all he got was a set of DVDs. Barack Obama, the leader of the world's richest country, gave the Prime Minister a box set of 25 classic American films - a gift about as exciting as a pair of socks.

It contained a signed paperback copy of Dreams of My Father, purchased at the WH Smith shop at the airport, a bottle of Johnny Walker Scotch (black label), a CD of the Swedish band ABBA’s greatest hits (still in shrink wrap with a 2-for-1 sticker on it) and ten bags of M&Ms with the presidential seal on them.

Yet another low class/no class show of contempt for those who are in the "Lowlier Than Me" crowd ... which is damned near everybody on the planet. He wouldn't recognize protocol if it jumped up and bit him in the ass.

Let's see ... the Queen of England got a cell phone, ipod, or some such loaded with materials about the Greatness of Obama.

Now Gordon Brown gets a set of movie classics.

Prince William and Kate? Well, Kate will probably get a burka, the Prince will probably get a big stick of some kind along with a copy of the Quran and instructions for beating the hell out of Kate ... and perhaps a bag of stones he could use if she really falls out of grace.

He is a national disgrace.

As for Prince William, that is an interesting question. Pondering what to get someone who has everything...

Two things come to mind:

1. A motorcycle (not sure why just seems appropriate)
2. Engraved copy of the scriptures.
