Gibbs Says GOP Has Shot at Winning House This Fall

Hmmmm, history repeats itself? Mr Obama is no Bill Clinton.

Oh really? How so?

Both have unlimited amounts of charisma. Both are centrist Democrats. Both are strong on Foreign policy. Both have a similar social policy when it comes to things at home.

It's the 90's all over again. And the Republicans getting back in power will be their worst downfall. Why? Because they'll actually have to do something and can no longer blame Pelosi and Reid when nothing happens.
 you REALLY think so?

and just WHAT makes you think Obama is strong on foriegn policy?
i'd say he has shown himself to be a fish out of water

The Republicans deserved to be thrown out in 2008 and the Democrats most definitely deserve to be thrown out in 2010!

Obama signed Pro-Gun legislation and no Anti-Gun legislation since coming into office. He's ramped up the War in Afghanistan. He's for the Death Penalty. He's a supporter of the Patriot Act and FISA. He didn't fight for the public option in the Health Care Bill which was taken out. He's against Gay Marriage, whether it be personally or politically I don't know. He's continuing the War on Drugs.

Hell, Obama was more Conservative on some issues than Reagan. Immigration being one of them.

Like I said, the worst thing for the Republicans would be to win in 2010. They will lose the White House and maybe what they won in 2010 in 2012 in the process.

Are you paying any attention to what's going on in the world?

You will note, that Clinton never forced hillarycare onto the people. Clinton didn't spend Trillions of dollars. In fact, with the help of the Republican's in Congress actually did some deficit cutting.

Where is Obama doing either of those things?

Obama a centrist? Are we living in the same reality? This administration has used nothing but bulldog Chicago backroom deals to push the most liberal programs they possibly could, and to you this is centrist? OK, what ever you want to believe.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but unless you're in your 20s, when the Democrats lose power this time, they will not get it back in your lifetime. This was their golden opportunity, and they know it. That's why they've thrown caution to the wind.

Even they know that when its over this time, its over for a LONG time.

I'm not saying the Republicans are going to hold power, but the Democrats are done. They have betrayed the People more deeply, and more corruptly, than they historically have. This is their last hoorah for several terms to come, and they know it.

Force?

What the Dems did was no worse than what the "Dracula Congress" did to get things passed. Whether you choose to accept that or not is your own choice. Also, yes, when I say strong on Foreign Policy I'm talking about they're not backing down when faced with a enemy. Also, seeing the Republicans in Congress will be hilarious.

You know why? They have no agenda! They have a bunch of feel good slogans, but no actual agenda!

What are they going to cut? Defense? And let the Democrats be the ones to come off as Pro-Military?

How about cutting Social Security and Medicare? Oh wait, all those Tea Partiers who support the GOP happen to be old white people who don't want those things touched.

They can't use Gay Marriage as a issue. Not Abortion either. After all, they had a majority in the House, Senate, and they had the Presidency and did nothing about Abortion. Why? Because that is the GOP's ace in the hole on moral issues in order to divide a wedge between the two parties. As long as they have that card to play, people who vote merely on religious standards will walk like sheep into the booth and pull the lever for the Republicans.

Cut taxes? That worked real well for Bush. Besides, taxes are at their lowest level federally in sixty years.

Going to run on repealing Health Care? Good luck. Between getting rid of pre-existing condition and the other good aspects of the bill, they'll be shooting themselves in the foot.

How about no financial reform bill? Even better. All those people who lost their homes because of the greedy banks will be happy to know the Republicans did nothing for them.

Face it, the Republicans can't do anything without hurting their own support.

sorry, you are out of touch if you REALLY believe that
and whoever made the video, if they think there is anything remotely similar in Obama that Reagan had, they need professional psychiatric help for their delusions

I know Liberals Ollie, and I can tell you that Obama is no Liberal. If you think the Health Care Bill was Liberal, you have no idea what Liberal is. As for the Stimulus, it's for 40% tax cuts.

face it, the GOP could win this fall for basically the same reason the dems won 2 years ago

those in control now fucked everything up

So wait, which of the positions that I rattled off are wrong? I can keep going. Obama is no Liberal. If we go outside the United States, he'd be considered a Conservative.

I'm not saying they won't win this fall. What I'm saying is if they control Congress, they can no longer say Obama and Pelosi are keeping them down. They actually have to start doing stuff. And since they have no real agenda, the lulz will begin.

you are living in college reality, not the real world
Obama is more liberal than Clinton was
Clinton had to moderate wqhen the dems lost congress
Obama hasnt had to deal with that at all
and if you REALLY believe he isnt liberal, then you dont know what liberal IS

it is a lie to say they dont have a real agenda
when its not even allowed to be debated in congress

So no, none of the positions I listed were wrong. Don't use the age card there Dive, it's unbecoming of you. I live in the real world, and I can tell you that Obama is no Liberal. You may think he's a Liberal, but he's not. Hells bells, the Health Care Bill is much of the GOP bill from the 90's. Real socialist on that one. :cuckoo:

I haven't been wrong yet when it comes to predicting these things. I'm telling you, the GOP wins in 2010, it will hurt more than help them in the long run. I'll tell you what, come 2012, if I'm wrong, you can necro this thread and tell me I was wrong.

Then both parties can blame "gridlock."

Unhappily there is no third party to tip the balance.
