German Patriots Mark Dresden Holocaust

I watched ABC JEWS on TV and there was no mention of the event.

American media doesn't do overseas stories unless it's a disaster, a cute animal is involved or someone famous has made themselves look like a complete twat.

Thousands turned out in central Dresden to protest a march by far-right supporters on the 64th anniversary of the Allied firebombing of the city. Police clashed with left-wing protestors, who threw stones and bottles.

The locals are upset that neo-Nazis have hijacked the event. That's the current story and that's how it's being reported by Deutsche-Welle radio.

"Locals" agree... but they have to pretend to be upset by the nationalists.

It's like I always say... for every right-winger at a demonstration, there are 25 at home who totally agree. For every left-winger at a demonstration, he represents himself.

First off the Nazis weren't right wingers the were as they said themselves socialists. The only disagreement prior to the Spanish civil war between Adolph and Joe was whether or not you had to jettison your homeland if you didn't live in Russia to be a good socialist.

So we are looking at one set of socialist picketing another set of socialist and the leftist nits are acting like it never happened before. How many right hand men did uncle Joe have that were later disappeared prior to WWII? And during for that matter.

An actual "holocaust," meaning all-consuming fire...

Allies bombed Dresden to the ground, despite there being no military purpose in doing so.

I bet those Germans wished they lived in London or Coventry or any of our British streets instead, you stupid fucking moron. They tried to fucking flatten us, isn't it a pity for them we dropped bombs on them too.Daft twat.

The rest of you numbskulls in this thread aren't worth bothering with on an individual basis.

In a related story, it seems that an ever-growing number of Germans are dissatisfied with democracy as their form of government:

Funny you would mention that - an ever growing number of Americans think that the U.S. government itself isn't a democracy and that the Founders never intended for us to have a democracy - this despite the glaring fact that a republic of the people is a form of democracy.

well, thats because we ARENT a democracy, we are a constitutional republic

Here we go again. The two concepts are separate.

If you believe that the power in a nation should lie with the people and not the state then you believe in a democracy. A democracy has certain views towards how political authority is created and how it should be used. The mechanism to use that power is the form of government, in the case of the US, a republican form of government.

If you believe that the power lies with the state then you believe in totalitarianism or authoritarianism. The mechanism for use of power is open to you. You can have a republic if you wish. You can make it a one party state if you want to.

There are other options of course but the US is both a democracy and a republic.

North Korea on the other hand is a totalitarian state and a republic.

The United Kingdom is a democracy and a constitutional monarchy.

Germany is a democracy and a republic.

And so on.

Sorry for the thread drift.

sorry, but that is not correct
this country is set up and foundationally a constitutional republic

Jews call it the Shoah - catastrophe.

The term "holocaust" came to have a broader meaning than it's original religious reference in the early 19th Century, long before the Nazis came to power in Germany.

So it would seem that those who would seek to piss about with the word and somehow use it to smear Jews have fallen on their bony little arses yet again.

I don't disagree. I just added that it is also a democracy, not that it wasn't a constitutional republic.

A bay horse can be a standardbred or a thoroughbred (or anything else bred). The term bay horse and "standardbred" or "thoroughbred" aren't mutually exclusive.

The concept of a nation being a democracy, that is, having a democratic political nature doesn't exclude that nation from being a constitutional republic or a constitutional monarchy (or other things).

I know I'm being pedantic and I'll stop it if I'm proven wrong
