Enthusiasts in France are restoring some of the most impressive remnants of World War II.

Built by the occupying Germans as a defence against invasion the so called Atlantic Wall stretched all the way from the Spanish border to Scandinavia.

For decades it has been left to disintegrate but now a new generation has started work on renovating the wall and sharing its history.

Pretty Ironic that the French couldn't defend themselves against the Germans and now they are re-building a German defense against the Allies.

If the French restore anything like the English built their 1960's era metal working lathes, its all history with the arrival of one fourteen inch shell.
Better they had trotted off to a place like Colleville sur Mer and got down momentarily on one knee or even uttered a barely audible prayer for the men buried there and the country that sent them to rescue them from their oppression.
