Georgia Legislature Drops Plans For ‘Religious Freedom’ Bill After Watching Indiana Implode

The far right wanted economic boycotts to punish those with whom they disagreed, but now they denounce the use of the same tactics against Indiana.

The Indiana legislature is the peoples' legislature.

They will have to live with the legislature's stupidity.

Reminder, nutters......

Even if we give you the myth that homosexuality is a sin in your religion........how are you supposed to react to sinners? Who among you is not a sinner?
Oooooohhh... you gonna concede 'sin' status?... that's Gawdalmighty White of ya...

And, good luck, trying to twist the precepts of such belief-systems, in an attempt to turn their words back on them, to try and get your way...

Somehow, I don't think that one's gonna fly, Wilbur.

You are doing great here. How does your god tell you to react to sinners?
Roast 'em over a slow fire?

Awesome. You had a moment of clarity and realized that you were letting your emotions get the better of you. Your response....say something that is tongue in cheek and way over the top. Attach a smiley. It's all good! How bad of a guy can you be? You used a smiley! Right?
Uhhhhhh... yeah... sure... oh, and, with respect to your perception of my status as a Good Guy or Bad Guy, based upon my traditional perception of homosexuality and so-called Gay Rights... your opinion is worth noting... and is good for a few chuckles... but I don't take it (or you) seriously in this context... MEH.

It's not up to you to decide what people believe, asswipe.

What "economic boycotts" were those, commie?

Indiana law may be Iowa’s gain

DES MOINES, Iowa —More companies may boycott Indiana after that state's legislature passed a law many say would make it legal to discriminate against homosexuals.

Yeah... that's the ticket... capitalize upon the situation and punish the People of the State of Indiana and take away their jobs... yeah... that's it... not.

The people of Indiana should have thought of that when they elected these morons.

Your belief that Indiana is going to suffer because of this law is nothing more than a fantasy. However, it does highlight the viciousness and ruthlessness of queers.

You're kidding, right?

It has already suffered, or they wouldn't be scrambling so damn fast to try and fix the damage.

The "damage" is trivial - a lot of toothless threats, and nothing more. A year from now the whole thing will be forgotten by everyone but the queers.

IN Speaker of the House just said on CNBC that the law will be specifically fixed, and that immediately, to ensure the LGBT community, by name, will not be harmed.

The "damage" to Pence might be his political career, and to his state might be a funny look for years when you mention going there. Just because you can't see open wounds doesn't mean the disease isn't killing you from the inside out.

In a month this won't be news because the big Oops is only days, if not hours, away.

I think they'd just skate away, but I suspect the NCAA is going to force them to do an about face. I don't really see how the NCAA can stay in Indianapolis if the law is going to stay, and the final four?

So what remains as the point of the law?
It allows them to say to the American Taliban, Hey, sorry, we tried, but that devil Equality fucked us again. He just won't let us stay on top and pee on everyone else. Life is so unfair.

This is too funny, seems like they are running scared now.

Victory for sanity!!

Let nobody tell you that your voice doesn't matter. Nowhere is that more clear than in Georgia this week where the state’s Republican-majority legislature quietly killed their very own “religious freedom” bill after watching their fellow conservatives in Indiana go down in spectacular fashion for passing a similar law.

According to WXIA in Atlanta, the Georgia House Judiciary Committee cancelled a scheduled meeting meant to discuss the pending legislation. The bill is effectively tabled, with support dissolving at an almost hourly rate. Sensing shifting sands, the bill’s author, Republican Sen. Joshua McKoon frantically called on his fellow lawmakers to vote on the bill “as-is” as soon as possible before it was too late. So far, no one – left or right – has seemed eager to take him up on his offer.
