George Will: Mitt Romney Is 'Losing' Argument On Bain Capital, Personal Finances (VIDEO)

On Sunday, George Stephanopoulos asked which campaign was winning argument over Romney's record. "Mitt Romney's losing at this point in a big way," Will contended. He said that Romney should have taken care of those issues years ago, as soon as he knew he would be running for president in 2012. Watch the remarks at :52 in the clip above.

"I don't know why... he didn't get all of this out and tidy up some of his offshore accounts and all the rest," Will said. "He's done nothing illegal, nothing unseemly, nothing improper, but lots that's impolitic."

He remembered that Romney faced the same scrutiny over his private sector experience during his 1994 race for the Senate. Will added that Romney's business background made him vulnerable "at a time when the financial sector is an extremely bad odor."

.

Romney's just not a likeable character. Should that matter in Presidential politics? No, but it does. I suspect a more likeable character would be able to weather this storm more effectively.

Obama has to make this race about Romney, and right now he is.

How funny this what Obama considers, winning

Not just Obama, but also George Will

Wow that many?

Oh more than that.

Former speechwriter to President George W. Bush Matthew Dowd

“There’s obviously something there, because if there was nothing there, he would say, ‘Have at it,’” Dowd said Sunday.

Appearing on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” last week, former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour said he’d go further than the financial disclosures required by law – and further than Romney has gone in releasing his taxes.

“If you have things to hide, then maybe you’re doing things wrong,” Alabama Governor Robert Bentley, a Republican, told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on July 14. “I think you ought to be willing to release everything to the American people.”

On Thursday, Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), who heads all House GOP campaign efforts, told reporters that questions about Romney’s holdings were on target, according to CNN .

“His personal finances, the way he does things, his record, are fair game,” Sessions said. While he declined to name a specific amount of information or number of years’ worth of tax returns Romney should release, he called the issue a “legitimate question.” Romney has only released his 2010 tax return and had said he will release his 2011 return before the election.

Romney is winning the Bain argument. Just keep repeating it. They have zero evidence of anything.

George Will is merely stating the obvious. The fact that many partisan conservatives don't want to accept what he (and others) are saying is reminiscent of the proverbial ostrich with his head in the sand.

But, you guys are that way about a lot of issues. Climate change comes to mind. So too does the women's issues about birth control versus employer dictated mandates. Your lack of sensitivity to both solid evidence when it's presented and public opinion when it's not in agreement with you is only hurting you.

"We" "their"; why not the issue? Short of donations to the KKK, or Obama in '08, what could be in his tax records that will have any impact?
