I came across an article about some body parts of famous people, that are on display across America. This type of stuff fascinates me.
George Washington's Hair- Maine Historical Society-Portland.

After the President's death in 1799, the country mourned. One such mourner was Eliza Wadsworth, the daughter of a Congressman from Philadelphia.
Eliza wrote to her Dad, asking him to try and get her some of George Washington's writings and a lock of his hair. The Congressman wrote to Martha Washington, and Martha was so touched by Eliza's story, that she sent a few locks of George's hair to her.
When Eliza died, she willed the hair to her family for safekeeping.
In 1899, the hair was given to the Maine Historical Society, which is where you can peek at it today!
