Representative Fred Upton, Republican of Michigan, who now heads the House Energy and Commerce Committee, inserted the light bulb standards in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, which President George W. Bush signed into law. Mr. Upton has since reversed his position on the standards he authored.

Most republicans hate freedom of choice, along with free markets.

They are charlatans and cranks.

Are you trying to be comical or just stupid?

Most Republicans are statists and not conservative. This is not an esoteric fact.

Where do you get most from? If we are intent on using a broad brush lets see the basis.

Let looks at the leading Republican candidates and the past history of voting by Republicans. At best, you have Reagan 80, who turned into a big government President in 84 who increased the debt and social and economic regulations more than his predecessor; Jimmy Carter.

Republicans have a long history of limited government, free market rhetoric, but do the opposite when they are in power. Again, this is not an esoteric fact.

That should tell you how stupid it is. Funny thing is, most lefties think he got that right.

Fair enough, thank you. I agree with much of what you said. The reason they struggle with my support.
