George W. Bush Said God Told Him To Invade Iraq

Dumbassitude thread to the 10th power. I shudder to think how many times some dumbfuck has started a post on this over the past 10 years. Ah well, have at it then, maybe it'll make you feel better about yourself.

I think God might have told Clinton to bomb Yugoslavia but Congress told Bush to invade Iraq.

President George W Bush told Palestinian ministers that God had told him to invade Afghanistan and Iraq - and create a Palestinian State, a new BBC series reveals.

In Elusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs, a major three-part series on BBC TWO (at 9.00pm on Monday 10, Monday 17 and Monday 24 October), Abu Mazen, Palestinian Prime Minister, and Nabil Shaath, his Foreign Minister, describe their first meeting with President Bush in June 2003.

Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq ." And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"

Abu Mazen was at the same meeting and recounts how President Bush told him: "I have a moral and religious obligation. So I will get you a Palestinian state."

The series charts the attempts to bring peace to the Middle East, from President Bill Clinton's peace talks in 1999/2000 to Israel's withdrawal from Gaza last August.

Norma Percy, series producer of The 50 Years War (1998) returns, with producers Mark Anderson and Dan Edge, to tell the inside story of another seven years of crisis.

Presidents and Prime Ministers, their generals and ministers tell what happened behind closed doors as peace talks failed and the intifada exploded.

Israel and the Arabs: Elusive Peace - Mondays 10, 17 and 24 October, from 9.00 to 10.00pm on BBC TWO.

"History is littered with examples of people doing the most bizarre and sometimes wicked things on this basis," said Andrew Blackstock, director of the British-based Christian Socialist Movement. "If Bush really wants to obey God during his time as president he should start with what is blindingly obvious from the Bible rather than perceived supernatural messages.

"That would lead him to the rather less glamorous business of prioritising the needs of the poor, the downtrodden and the marginalised in his own country and abroad.

"When we see more policies reflecting that, it might be easier to believe he has God on his side. And more likely that God might speak to him."

The TV series, which starts on Monday, charts recent attempts to bring peace to the Middle East, from the former US president Bill Clinton's peace talks in 1999-2000, to Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip this year. It seeks to uncover what happened behind closed doors by speaking to presidents and prime ministers, along with their generals and ministers, the BBC said."

Palestinians are known proven lier's. Why would we believe a word they say? They are playing politics. Is any American saying this? NO! Did he tell Pat Robertson this? NO!

During the October 6, 2005 press briefing, White House spokesman Scott McClellan denied comments attributed to President Bush in the BBC television series. The Bush White House denies that God told Bush to invade Iraq.

The Bush White House also disputes Robertson no casualties comment. "The president never made such a comment," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said.

I think you're numb from the shoulders up. The Bush administration methodically lied to the American people, the congress, the U N, our allies etc. about weapons of mass destruction and never missed a beat. Colin Powell even presented pictures of a truck in which he said WMD's were loaded. He presented it to the UN and the world on TV. They had no shame and then tried for a year to find something after we were there and continued to lie through their teeth. Bush had been pissed off about Saddam Hussein trying to assassinate his daddy and the Republicans had been after him from the mid 90's. That's the facts.

Cammmpbell = :cuckoo:

If Bush thought God spoke to him, why would he lie about it? That would not bring him favor with his God.

Cammmpbell = :cuckoo:

It was not Bush who attacked Saddam for trying to assassinate his daddy. BILL CLINTON THANKED GOD THAT SADDAM FAILED TO KILL BUSH SR. It was Bill Clinton that attacked Iraq to AVENGE Saddam's attack on Bush Senior by bombing Iraq in 1993. BILL CLINTON SAID GOD BLESS AMERICA!

You goddam right wing assholes make my rectum crave lime juice.

A little something for your obviously blank page. "When Clinton Lied No Soldier Died"

Bush's extremely right wing party picked a fight with Saddam Hussein beginning in the mid 1990's and would not be silenced until they had been the direct cause of the death of 4400 young American men and women. To a chicken hawk draft dodger that ain't much but to the families of those young men and women... also the 34,000 who were seriously wounded.....plus the 50,000 or so who are currently battling PTSD it is real. Yeah yeah I know....we've got the most powerful military force in the world....stronger than the next ten combined as a matter of fact.....and if we don't use it every once in a while the peons will get upset...................REALLY
