George Bush - the most popular president in US history

Hey dumbshit. How about:
Clinton lied about real estate deal, committed perjury, had sex with a subordinate, took campaign funds from Red Chinese, suborned witnesses, and was impeached and nearly convicted, the only president in the 20th century to do so.
Bush took courageous action against a rogue regime that was defying UN sanctions, took apart a terrorist organization that had festered for years under Clinton, gave us 7 years of expanding GDP, and finally went against the advice of those who counseled the war was lost and launched a strategy that won it.
Clinton: 0
Bush: 1

How about

Clinton lead the country to prosperity unparalleled in 40 years and left office with a balanced budget and firm foreign policy.

Bush doubled the national debt, initiated the worst recession in 70 years, started two wars, botched two wars, ignored suffering Americans during Katrina, engaged in TORTURE and destroyed the country

Clinton 1
Bush -10

Was that before or after Clinton committed the felony?

and Clinton left the country reeling from the dot com bubble bursting, plunging employment numbers, the Enron debacle, 20 terrorists in 4 Al Qaeda terror cells training for the 9/11 attacks and a foreign policy that had American civilians and soldiers being shot at or killed daily.

I didn't want to bring it up ...but since you did

George Bush left his country wide open to terrorist attack and allowed our country to suffer the worst attack in history on US soil. That was on George Bush's watch NOT Clintons

Other things that would stop me from supporting Obama:

Continuation of "warrantless wiretapping".

Actual government takeover of the means of production in America (real Socialism), as opposed to helping out a company here and there when the failure of said company could spell disaster for the public.

There are lots more.

Better drop your support for Obama then....he will sign the enhanced FISA reauthorizing warrantless wiretaps and plans on renewing the Patriot Act.

Carter has been a far better ex-pres than an actual one. GWB was a terrible pres and has done nothing since leaving office to rectify it. I don't that he ever can. As for Nixon, millions upon millions of Americans never forgave him.

Oh....by your logic then.... the plunging employment numbers...3.8 million jobs lost in Obama's first months in office, the failure of the economy, the failure of the war in Afghanistan are ALL OBAMA'S FAULT.

Yeah, your right. Rightwinger can't have it both ways. If it's not Clintons fault with terrorists, it sure ain't Bush's fault for the economy, or unemployment. Good post, Patek.

The total shape of the economy and the results of the Afghanistan war will be part of Obama's legacy just like 9-11, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iraq, Katrina, the deficit, recession, rampant unemployment, TORTURE, housing collapse are Bush's legacy

So when Obama orders the retreat in Afghanistan we can rightly call him the chicken shit lib he is and you will agree rightwinger? When Obama quadruples the national debt in 4 years and leaves his 2 trillion dollar budget deficit we can call him the fiscally irresponsible dumb ass he's making himself out to be?

After all...he CANNOT claim anything with respect to Iraq. The troop withdrawal has already been negotiated prior to Obama coming into office and Bush's successful surge strategy has left Iraq taking over their own security and stabilizing into a regional ally.

Excellent.

Obama will be responsible for the execution of the mission in Afghanistan under his watch. Just like Bush was responsible for abandoning the fight in order to execute an unnecessary Iraq invasion.

My view is history will look more negatively towards Bush's performance than Obama's

Of course it will. You are a partisan hack.

What you and the other fringe kook lefties seem to want to gloss over is the FACT that our European NATO allies abandoned the fight in Afghanistan. NOT the U.S.A. Even your lord savior Barry has STATED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS that NATO must step up and fulfill their obligations in Afghanistan. But.......they have ignored The Barry.

Bush's legacy..

- Suffered the worst domestic attack in US History
- Invaded Afghanistan and then abandoned the fight to commit US troops in an imaginary quest to find WMDs
- Destroyed the US's humanitarian reputation. Held prisoners without charges, denied a right to a speedy trial
- engaged in TORTURE
- Attacked Iraq on a trumped up charge that they had WMDs
- Botched the Iraq war by ignoring the advice of Army COS Shinseki and not sending enough troops to control the situation
- Ignored Americans suffering as a result of Katrina
- Doubled the US Deficit
- Plunged the nation into the worst recession in 70 years
- Doubled the unemployment rate
- Oversaw the housing crash

Obama's legacy

- Initiated healthcare reform
- Brought the US out of the worst recession in 70 years
- Drew down the troop strength in Iraq

In just eight months, Obama's legacy already exceeds the Bush legacy of eight years

Too freakin' funny!
Obama initiated healthcare reform?
It's failing. He's lost the public option. The main cruxt of his plan, and what you liberal handout takers wanted most.
Brought us out of the worst recession in 70 years?
Tell that to those who ARE STILL losing their jobs and homes at an alarming rate. Where's all those jobs he promised would be created? Not one has been created. Why are small businesses going out of business at an alarming rate? Why is Obama stating that a second stimulus may be coming? Why are the car company's that Obama took over, STILL FAILING? Why are banks turning down home loans, even to fully qualified buyers? Why are refi's being rejected by banks, even to fully qualified homeowners?
Drew down the troop strength in Iraq?
He promised to have them outta there by when?

Obama's legacy to this point?
ABJECT FAILURE!

OK!

First off..I see you accept the legacy of George Bush.....Not too impressive

Healthcare WILL pass in spite of unanimous republican opposition. Public Option is still on the table

Are you boys still in economic denial??
Most economists have accepted we are emerging from recession. Index of leading economic indicators is UP five months in a row. Stock market is UP 40% since the passing of the stimulus bill. MORE Americans lost their jobs in the last eight months of Bush than the first eight months of Obama

After 9/11, George Bush was the most popular president in US history. Not only was the country firmly behind him, but also much of the rest of the world.

The question:

If the United States were attacked again, would Republicans stand behind Obama? Or would they want him to fail?

If the republicans are against America getting the olympics, you know they would not support our country or Obama if we were attacked.

That is the difference between them and us to tell you the truth.

Specifically why?

I hope we dont find out.

I think it would depend on Obama's response. People rallied around bush because of his response to the attacks. I would hope Obama would also stand tall, proud, and strong as an American with his response and gain the same level of support.

We know how that Hope works for him!

I think that it's funny that some of the retards on the left think that Bush should be treated like Clinton for no reason other than "well the Republicans did it too." It's such a playground mentality.

How's that Bush impeachment thing working out for you? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

If you want to run a comparison of the Right's treatment of Clinton and the Left's treatment of Bush...I don't think you want to bring up the LACK of Bush's impeachment as some kind of equal treatment thing. :eusa_whistle:

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Clinton actually committed a crime, a felony, whereas Bush didn't break ONE SINGLE LAW during his entire 8 years as President of the United States.

So in your mind, a blow job is worse than getting 4000 americans killed?

if it could all be done again, would you let it play out the same way?
